Marraige these days is a subject of mutual relation, obligation, settlement and adjustment. Now people marry a bit late as 20k in metros like Mumbai, Delhi, bangalore may not be sufficient enough to bear the expenses at all. Now it requires both the spouse to work and try to help each other.An unmarried person may not be asked for marital status but if at all felt necessary it can be found out through reliable sources during an interview. While on interview it may look a bit embarassing to an individual to explain those personal matters before a total new environment. Marital status should not be a criteria for any rejection or acceptance for any organization. After all talent and skill can never be ignored. On the contrary knowing your employee better helps you place better.

I think one does not get married or unmarried because of some strong reason behind it. But making a living is a right of everybody. One is personal and the other is professional stream and it should be kept separate from each other.

Well i don't think reason for job change is asked as a question into interview. People can lie N number of time by giving any thing as an excuse. Well in 20% cases the relocation is concerned rest is about money and experience. People change job to get right bucks as its obvious people work for money

Your topic suggest something different from the sides given. I don't know about men but for a women it is like this: From my personal experience I can tell you that companies do not understand their limits. Some questions frequently posed at the time of my job hunt were: 1. When will you get married? 2. Do you have a boyfriend? 3. Will you marry him? 4. Does your family know? 5. After marriage can you continue working ? 6. So you won't be marrying atleast for next 2 years, am I right? 7. Whom do you stay with? These were some bigies MNCs and not some local compaines. Finally I decided to join the sole company where such questions were not posed. Anyways time will tel what difference does marriage make to work life.

marital status has no effect on job change or interview. thrs no rule wich says a married man cannot change his job or tat the interview panel is going to reject him
