I would have loved to answer no, but that would be absolute theoretical... In the current scenario of oneupmanship by our marketers, they are forced to loose the context and oversell the values/benefits derived from the product/services. Thus customer in the end get swamped by the marketing and may feel cheated...

Visum-ineptio !!! Marketing just helps people see what they think they are going to see. Its really we who fool ourselves. We expect to see certain things in a product, marketing does that for. they show what we expect to see, to sell the product.

It is not about to sell the product, Marketing is only to let people know about the product and its uses and then let people to decide to have it or not? Its almost convincing about your product and influencing people still I say 50 - 50 making fool of customer.

Marketing is not fooling the customer but providing the information to the customer & creating an urge for him to buy that product / services. And today's customer is well educated & hard to fool so if you want to sell your product / service be smart & think through "Customer's POV"

A marketing is a marketing is a marketing is a marketing. If you like you get hooked to , if not then marketer is not forcing you. Is he forcing you? Its your choice. Eveyone has opened his shop to sell his wares and he has full rights to market a right product in a right and legal way. There is no question of fooling. Teaching is not fooling, convincing is not fooling, persuation is not fooling, awareness is not fooling, repetition is not fooling, using various medium is not fooling, roping in celebrities is not fooling, giving press statements or publicity is not fooling, door to door canvassing is not fooling, so on and so forth.

Marketing is essential for selling a product. If the intension of marketing a product to make fool, than it will work as a minor trick but in long run, the product it self will vanish. It will indirectly help in marketing of branded products. Therefore, the marketing ethics does not allow for fooling others.

Tool that Prompt the buyer to buy our product is called the marketing. It could be any thing that prompt buyer to buy the product such as colour feature, utility or ots requirement etc,. but which are things has to be highlight is defined by the marketing strategy. For example Maruti highlighting that swift completed that its second year it shows that satisfaction of the users, though this maruti have physical presence and appearance but they highlighted emotion and attitude linked with product which is more understandable and experienced by customer. Hence they build relationship.

No i do not agree with aditi here. Marketing also is a concept of selling the right product to the right person according to his needs. "It is a choice for the Bald man to buy a comb for his spouse."
