yes maruti is still a 1st choice of every indian middle clss family as its cheaper than the other cars. I do agree that in this scenario we have lots of options in front of us but the ratio of middle class famlies is more. & still maruti is a first choice as its very cheaper & requires less maintainance.

lolz, how far are we going to show off with cars and the falsely charm of this mean world, look at the petrol price and the availability of petrol in the near future, are you guys still opt for cars to show off your neighbors that we got a "CAR"... give up all these things and think from the perspective of a farmer, during the recession and the next bubble explosion...

I think, Maruti 800 still deserves to be the first preference for the middle class customer who wants the best return on investment & value for money...The market for cars is healthy in India , but some brands are like forever in the minds of the people ..they can be luxurious brands like merc. or common man brand like Maruti 800....so.. if this car is still easily available in the market , then the common man of India will still prefer it.......

Going by the adage, "Old is Gold", Maruti 800 amply proves it even to this day. Yes, it has lost its shine but it is still considered young in the age of Hyundais and Chevrolets. If your new car breaks down, you can always rely on Maruti 800; If you want to get a license to drive, rely on Maruti 800; If you love to drive long distances, Maruti 800 is there for you. It is still a force to reckon with and still remains the people's favorite time-pass family car.

I don't think that in this technology-driven age Maruti 800 would be the best option available for anyone. There are lot more better cars are available in the market which are more cost-effective, which have fuel efficiency and has lot more space than this car. This is the time when all people are becoming environment conscious and going for this car will hurt the feelings of those peoples. The Maruti company can come up with some sort of innovation and upgrade the engine of this car, this way it would be better for this company. But sticking with the old Maruti 800 would not be a good idea for customers in all ways.

We have very good alternative and good cars are available today. If you remebered that before 2-3 years ago maruti 800 close the production, they have also made strategy to sell car in rural area. Now maruti 800 car market share is very low and many new technology , good looking car are available at economic cost.

Maruti 800 is based on technology more than 30 years old, its slow, unsafe and cramped. Even if one has choose from maruti, alto is better, then there's nano. Bajaj will launch there small car next year.
