Maruti is set to launch the new car Cervo, in June, which seems to be a rival for Tata Nano. It will be coming with a 54bhp 660 CC engine, though it will gratify the users as the substitute of Maruti Alto and Maruti 800. The new car will have a compact hatchback design, with a sleek and elegant look. It will be provided with the interior space, comfortable for four passengers. The base model of Maruti Cervo will have the standard features including power steering, and AC.

Good quality, attractive interiors is a general feature of Maruti cars and it will be true with this car too. The higher models will be available with the safety features including airbags and ABS. Five doors, front semi-bucket seats, engine with VVT and blue tooth facility, 5 speed auto gearbox, a 30 liter fuel tank and 22 to 25kmpl fuel efficiency, are the other features of this hatchback. The initial model will come up with petrol engine.

So users, do you think Maruti Cervo will be a threat for Tata nano?

This model has all the potencies to fulfill the demand of today's generation. Iam sure as soon as it launches, it will give a stiff competition not only to TATA NANO, but to all other small cars in the Indian automobile market.

Yes finally it is about money, quality and service. Maurti has edge in passenger car sector on the basis of quality and service. Will it match up to Tata Nano on price is the question to see. Indian consumer is very price sensitive

I too support Mrudula for the same as the present group of customers using Nano are not that satisfied and today's generation wants looks and status so Maruti Cervo is far better than Nano

definately

Nano Is even Not popular among youth and is seen as a low grade car

in addition the cervo is far ahead in looks.

TATAS are planning to increase the rates of NANO too.

CERVO would Crash the market of nano

A little disagree with the your point because with in the 3 models of Nano, the most wanted one was the Dlx version which is the highest in the price list. It almost cause 2 lacs. India is not a poor country in terms of automotive world. From Tata Nano to Rolls Royce Phantom, we have customers for all kinds of vehicles. So price is not going to be a big concern. After all, peoples in India still trust Maruti won't produce a bad car at all. This factor is strengthened by the highest number of service centers and best in class resale value. So when it comes to Nano and Maruti, Maruti will get the upperhand.

Yes it will give stiff competition to Nano. 1.5 lakh is not so costly too.

Especially if Tata Motors does not improve and seriously work on customer feedback and better on satisfaction.

Maruti has the advantage of being longer in passenger segment, customer interaction and practiced culture of sticking to minima's and norms.

And the faster Tata Motors corrects this gap the better.

Has Maruti innovated on the available features with their competitor NANO? :))

Even if the car is priced higher than Nano, at this time the safety that it offers by way of features like Airbags, ABS etc, it will drive the consumers to go for it!!

Maruti has a huge loayl following and it will grow larger with the CERVO! I agreew ith you Ujv al & Mridula :)

"For this segment(common man's car), price is a major factor. This model is not intended for high speed driving and luxury. Also Nano comes from the trusted TATA family. The thing to wait and see is that whethe Maruti will lower its price and satisfy the indian public.

I don't think so, Maruti Cervo will be priced between 1.5 to 2 lakhs which is higher than the basic model of TATA Nano. Thus many people will opt for Nano since Maruti won't be able to challenge Nano in price. Also, TATA has its own loyal market who will never change their brand in any condition.
