It always is. But your decision to go for it should be based on long term career plans and not because everyone around you is doing it. When you opted for engineering, you must have had some plans for yourself or some inclination to make a career in Engineering. Be aware, that when you go for MBA, in all probability you will not be in a position to pursue your original Engineering Dreams.

yup its a gud option only if u gain some engineering experience atleast for two years nd den join a good B-school. The lower strata of B-schools generally dont give any kinda professional boost to your carreer wid experience. However, a good B-school and your focused approach towards an industry can work wonders for you.

Good(but not required),To do any job or start any business primarily we need 2 things 1. Technical skills 2.Management skills If we consider technical skills B.tech is the extreme end,to learn management skills(Common sense) the only option available is MBA.

An MBA with two experience in technical field will open up the minds of the students/professionals. This gives an inside thought to continue in the existing career/job or start a own consultancy/bsiness

Something wrong. Maybe your choice of location or job types and other pressures may have "forced" you into this current slot. Education always broadens the horizons. That in the long run is an asset. It may not have an immediate payoff - money but there will be recovery in the long run

Yes. (in part). Engineering BE/BTech is just a foundation on which you have to build. Based on this, additional slightly diversified degrees add to your knowledge base and help you to better stand out for a broader vision. Knowledge added need not be Technical Knowledge per se. It has to be knowledge - physical - regarding the world around you and how it operates, This will give you the capability to have a glogal view of the situation.

With fast changing scenario the additional degree of MBA gives an insight to an engineer for better understanding and analyzing the situation analytically. The over all exposure results in adjusting as per the situation.

Even engineering jobs require management skill. So, there is no harm having a MBA degree even if one wishes to continue with primarily engineering job. However, engineers doing primarily managerial jobs is a waste of committed engineering education. Let one decide before entering college education as to what career one wants. For primarily management jobs, any graduation is OK. And for pure engineering jobs, one may take 3-6 months of management education to overcome deficiency in managerial skills.

there is always management involved in one form or the other in every aspect of life so management knowledge is necessary. But from careers point of view MBA after engineering would lend in a different zone, things would change in more ways than you ever expected. If you are technically sound then there is no need of MBA from careers perspective, you can do good enough in technical too and of-course that could come with work of your interest :) .

Before you post this question, you need to ask yourself. What do you like to do and what are your interests. Based on your answers, we can answer your question. Doing MBA right after your degree, may be less helpful.

i don't feel that after completion of technical degree if somebody peruse MBA will add on to his technical knowledge also the work under engineer and a manager is completely different. It helps only in case if any engineer from electrical or mechanical peruse MBA in power sector or in any core sector otherwise it is a wastage of money, time and skills which an engineer gain in four years

So many people opposed this and it is posted on the other side. One is a technical degree and the other one is management course. Until one engineer decides to choose some career which an MBA degree adds some value there is no use or benifit for spending 2 years and lakhs of rupees for MBA course.
