MBA is necessary for those who don't have any idea about "How to manage"? & for those who want to get experience about the managerial methods theoretically. And to study management is not necessary but to have the managerial skills for any manager is compulsory.

MBA is not a mandate degree but just that it will add to your skills when taking a position as a manager. For me MBA is a jack of all trade and master of none kind of degree..end of the day it is your attitude and acumen which will help you in managing...

The important issue is the quality of the B-School. A quality instituion where you have access to the industry and its chalenges equips you to be productive from day 1. And good B-schools allow for the integration of differnet aspects of marketing, finance, operations to juxtapose and learn the skill sets required to resolve dilemmas rather than doing it in the real world where it can be very expensive

The world is becoming more and more complex by the day and with it, the management of business. MBA is one course which equips the student with all the knowledge and skills needed to run the business. While owning a business and taking care of the general directions a business should take doesn't need an MBA, the day-to-day running of business definitely requires MBAs to remain competitive.

Management is necessary to the extent it gives you enough knowledge to ask all the right questions. When any large organization is being managed , several areas need to function smoothly , in unison. Supply chain management is one area ; working capital management is another area ; receivables need to be controlled ; so also should inventory. Above all these , people need to be managed , and machines need to be maintained. A manager who oversees all of this , needs to have at least a basic knowledge of all these areas. An MBA degree hopefully gives him / her this. To that extent , a purely technical or non-technical qualification may be inadequate.

No, running management is about mindset. Globally, most successful companies are not headed by MBA's at all. Just read this excellent article http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2006/06/the-management-myth/4883/

MBA degrees are sold for money, If MBA package is 6 to 8 lacs, you bargain a salary of 5 lacs at least after completion. Is that an education we are talking about which is very famous amongst the nova rich with brains of a chicken. Education is money these days so no degree is required only knowledge acquire from wherever you get them. One day I am going to burn my certificates as it has no value. I consider my Education to be false and misleading which is now being realized by me. INDIAN EDUCATION SYSTEM SUCKS BIG TIME...=SSS
