Small restaurants and franchisee restaurants across the country are closing down and laying off employees. Inspite of having recession, McDonald's is actually adding stores and continuing to give good services all over the world. McDonald's, the world's No. 1 burger-maker, appears to be running a recession-proof business. What are your viewpoints?

No every industry is affected by recession, and i have seen at one of the Mac donalds that i visit there is shortage of employees than before, you may see in India they might be expanding but in abroad they too are laying of employees like others and you may not recognize the size of the burgers as they have reduced than which they were serving before,,, so Mac donalds is not recession proof...

I think their main reasons for success are doing lot of market research and following through on what the customer wants. For example - serving more varieties instead of just burgers, coffees and colas. Their exceptionally good service from the staff to the customers may be the critical success factor. McDonald's are more conscious about customers and providing them healthier food options. But nobody is ever going to choose another restaurant over McDonald's to help with a diet.

Mc.Donalds can be recession proof nor any other business, for the proof go check out your near by Mc.D where you used to go...You will find less customers compared to a last year...

Mc.D opening/adding stores to their list is just a strategy to attract more and more customers once we are out of recession...
