It is a mad rush for TRPs. Credibility, Accountability and Character is gone for a toss.

Hell yes! The fourth estate is very "aptly" mis-utilizing its authority. TRP race has made everything filthy and its ironical that Media assumes that people lend their ears to such bombarding of data, its wrong. That is why people can be heard everywhere dissing one or the other

मीडिया को और सामाजिक दायित्त्व निभाना होगा वरना इसकी विस्वसनीयता सिर्फ बातों तक रही जायेगी

media most of the times is manipulated by politicians ...it reflects what they want to convey and people unaware of actual facts are deceived. Apart from that, do poonam pandey and rakhi sawant deserve that much of publicity, i guess no but people like watching them that's why media is focusing on these vague issues..they are targeting people's mind to raise the no. of viewers

these days it's all about news analysis, breaking news amd views there is no place for news alone. one at times misses Ms. Salma Sultan DD style (thou Govt. sponsored) when it was all about news (thru the news reader), and audiance. fiction or non fiction (news) sensationalize it and justify it that this is what people want. english channels r a class apart in this matter the hindi channels r open about it and so many ways better.

At times it is yes, especially the daily serials, some of the news coverages which are painful to watch need proper content clearance especially the serials which are destroying our "HOME", traditional heritage!

According to me yes it is misusing its rights, Even in the Nuclear deal as well, the media was busy counting the votes and saying controversial things when it should have shown the positive and negative aspects of the deal and leave it on the people to decide what is right and what is wrong. Media holds great power and importance in our democracy, but what is the use of such power when it cannot use it correctly. Instead of getting into sensationalised journalism the Media must create awareness and not do case trials, as this is certainly not the job of the media. It should leave it on the judicial system. The role of the media should be transparent, unbiased, non-sensational, it should show both aspects of any news and not play with the mind of the public....

What i feel is yes Media is misusing its rights, let's take the Aarushi murder case for example, the poor girl was killed, the father was arrested, charged with murder of his own daughter, a case of lack of professionalism by the Police. The investigating police officer literally showed the images of Aarushi and her father. This was the moment when the media must have played a transparent role and actually brought forward the lack of duty by the police. Well it did, but what I see is the Media jumping and going crazy on Dr. Talwar, saying that he was the step father, and flashing news such as " The killer Father", and then the poor parents who were charged with the murder were let off by the police without any evidence as such, but the media just created sensationalism out of nothing, so by doing this they are misusing their rights..

Level of freedom for Media in the way they conduct themselves is a reflection of maturity of the scociety. Thanks to the media so much of corruption in the country is out in the open. Of course media may have added intention of increasing their TRP by sensationalising the news. But I think something if it is completely outrageous, will certainly will have strong reactions from public and governement will intervene to keep them in check.

No it is not misusing the rights, they are showing what they are getting as news from the officials and from other place, they are not making up anything, anything held responsible for the scandals that is shown are the officials who release those pictures in public and try and make something out of nothing, and the media just shows whats happening, so media is not misusing its rights in any way.......
