Media is said to be the voice of the people and acts as an intermediate between the people and the various other factors which has the impact on the society. That is why they got more power to reveal the actual picture. But now a day the media has changed the attitude to get maximum TRP. If government is doing little mistake they will add lots of spice in the actual information and reveals it in the society or if they get paid for for the particular things they can even create a good picture of the bad things. So their attitude needs to be changed to have full faith on people.

May not Media and Govt work in tandem for the welfare and development ? Instead, if media becomes stronger, may a Govt. work ? Let us examine : -- Media, as often seen, tends to make mockery of all decessions of Govt., good or bad -- the try to project themselves the "only vanguard" for peoples' interest ( actually they work for their own 'interests' - say TRP and or legal or illegal revenues, being a hidden pressure group for a particular House ) -- their communications often remain just one way - readers and viewers are often not allowed to express theirs ( visual media " feeds", print media : publishes stories ) -- most often they create a "Think-tank" for themselves, inviting personalities of their choices - seldom other point of view is allowed to be aired/ printed ( it is believed that these panelists remain in some kind of "pay-role" for the media ) ....... * We are lucky or unlucky that "Print Media" may not reach to the vast majority ( say 60 % ) as they have no purchasing power to buy a news paper daily. ...... * most of the audiences of visual media switches between channels in evry five minutes, do not bother for views and ultimately settles in soap-operas or entertainments Ultimately : dont allow anybody Govt/ Media/ Group/ Think-tank or so rule us - we, the people are more powerful than Media/ Govt.

Yes Kavitha I am strongly in your support because Media is the only which is bringing out the hidden fact of so many issues. Though Politicians and some rich people have their share in the Media but even then Media Plays a strong role and influence the public. So there is no doubt at all that Media is stronger than the Government.

media may not be stronger than the government: nonethe less it can certainly shake the government out of its slumber. most times government fails to act on an issues unless it is highlighted vociferously by the the media. in a country where lack of accountability is present everywhere ,media is certainly playing a role what the government should be doing on its own

Media is able to reach a larger segment of the population than the government does and does it faster 20 times a day! This would not matter if we had responsible journalism but some of the media outlets in this country are hardly what we can call responsible. They should stick to reporting the news instead of interpreting it and asking and making leading statements.

No doubt media need freedom with a objective for to achieve social welfare. But for any of its cause to accomplish it need a system. That sytem is systematicaly controlled by the government. Compare that system with your body system if some component does not work properly than how me or my country can stay in good state.
