Is mobile marketing the wave of the future ?

I strongly feel that mobile will be the largest media market for advertising of all time very soon. The world is slowly recognizing the future of advertising and realizing that this system must be worked out sooner rather than later for mutual beneficial to both customers and advertisers.

I'm curious about how some of you feel about receiving mobile ads. Would you be willing to get them? And if you did, would you find them useful? Or you annoyed? So, what do you think about "Mobile Marketing". Will it be the next big thing or not ?

Yes definitely because we are seeing more and more mobile phone users across India. And also the fact the subscriber base for wireless services has increased dramatically, whereas subscriber base of Wireline service has decreased in 2007. Clear indication of decreasing wire line usage and proliferation of mobile value added services.

Yes I agree with the both arguments. Here we are not talking about Mobile Internet Zone. If we need to go for this Internet facility we need to have GPRS, and the handset must n should  support for that. Most of the mobile phones are used here are for SMS and CALLING purpose only. Bcoz of this facility, Mobile Marketing is going to be lead the next generation. Through Mobile Internet is also possible, if and only if the customers are used that supportable devices then only it is possible. At present SMS Sector, is the lead of Next Generation of Mobile Marketing....

I feel Mobile Internet will rule which will drive mobile advertising. With mobile marketing same product pitch, but different messages can be framed like in case of a automobile company when it advertises for a man, they can talk about features such as torque, horsepower and power. And for a woman, they can talk about safety features, built in child seats and other things that are targeted to women. Best thing is they know to whom they are advertising not like other mediums like TV or radio.

When there is a big debate on unsolicited calls on the mobile, it can be infered there is a natural barrier to Mobile Marketing. In such a scenario, calling mobile Marketing the next big thing is like sailing against the natural flow of water.
