Is not the same issue that we discused on" Internet filtering by power-countries "a week back. For which I wrote like this. Big giants use filtering & pilfering information for the enrichment of their goals ( may be political/ commercials). Obviously, towards increasing the bottom line.In the name of business, exploiting the mass through technology is not at all accepted. This is nothing new technique but the one followed since East India Company, India.

Yes, online censorship is unfair on trade. It hampers the business processes and online trading. It should be removed.

Online censhorship is a direct hit on the maturity level of the Work force. Free access online increases the Knowledge base of the people. By putting a censhorship we are trying to curb it.

Freedom of expression is a fundamental right as provided in the Constitution of India and permits every person to express freely with any threat & fear. Media has now a day become much aware and alive on the issue. Premature censorship and/or curtailment of one`s liberty is certainaly bad and an encroachment of rights and liberty which in turn leads the Society to chaos & disorder.

Fair or Unfair, it depends on the individual. For me concerned rules are for the country not a single person or a firm. If China found that Google is doing something not recommended to do in China, they certainly can ban Google. Don't forget that Google is not at all a very good firm. In 'Google Map, China', Arunachal Pradesh was the part of China. So its up to the country to decide what to be banned or not. It doesn't made any decrement in online trading in China, even though Google left for good (or bad). All the business firm has only one aim, profit and nothing else. This is why they give more and more facilities for the customers. But the government is not standing for any profit or loss. Its aim is national safety and increase in GDP. Absence of one company wont bother the rising GDP of China. India should show some courage like China, Google once shown Jammu-Kashmir as the part of Pakistan and still Google is working well in India. So I don't think the ban is unfair.

I would totally agree with the argument that in todays competitive world every company has to face country specific and situation specific censorships. We are talking about 2 issues here, first online censorship & second development of trade barriers. As far as first issue goes online censorship is seldom politically motivated like in case of China. Generally this is oriented towards protecting the individuals & their data. The second part of the issue is primarily oriented towards trade barriers. If you look at the Google-China controversy, China was blamed that the email accounts were hacked and hence operations are closed. Can somebody tell me how significant it is to be geographically operational in China for Hacking. This is a pure play case of politics by USA to banish Chinese supremacy by creating a panic among the countries operating in China. As far as ethics go how many of us watch television with ads which blame the competitor's product....

Each and every country has its own right to what rules they want to apply to the companies who want to operate from there. Let us take a broader view of online world before going into the Google-China issue. We always see that infinite number of crimes are happening with the help of the internet so there should be proper measures to be taken against such conditions so that they can be prevented in the future and for that we need some kind of rules and regulation body ...some kind of online censorship. Now talk about Google - China issue so let's take this fact into the consideration that China always behavies like this. They always accept those things which they think are good for them irrespective of world regulation. Now let's see the other side of it. Google was not holding the top position of search engine used by chinese (30% chinese users use Google) but the Baidu (Chinese Search Engine) which holds 60% of chinese users because of which China was not in the need of Google anymore and as the whole world knows that China doesn't want to keep any competition so it created the situation for Google to leave China.
