With the CAT offering the 1st online tests for their students it is major change in the way tests will be conducted in the future. CAT I think had showed the way that we cannot lag behind the world giants in technology. Now everywhere in fact online tests are conducted. So why will we be lagging behind. Its time we take the responsibility of embracing the technology. This is a long awaited change which most of us will like to witness.

Whether online or offline all such tests should be conducted in one go and in one timeslot to avoid paper leaks (as most of the questions get repeated and helps the candidates from later batches in online tests). Online tests require preparation of huge question banks from which to make up the test paper for each candidate. This effort is not required with offline tests.

I dont think that the online test are future of our country.as we have the recent example of the cat exam, its the first time cat goes online and here we can see the result, number of servers crashed and whom we can blame.......

the traditional system of using paper and pen has no such kind of problems,it starts on time and ends on time

Though the trend is catching  up, but then it is best when the exams are done in the pen and paper format, as we saw the debacle of CAT online tests, servers were crashed all over the country, and this made many students who were in the right frame of mind deviate from exams with this crash, so the traditional pen and paper is what works really well in this hi-tech world. This is a good example of how much is too much, too much adoption of technology is not good according to me.
