With so much of scams happening lakhs of crores lost in this regard, and high inflation and controversy after controversy is plaguing this country like anything,  yes its the "most corrupt" government in the country's history and UPA-2 had little idea of how to deal with multiple problems plaguing the country. People say PM Manmohan singh is personally honest... It is a strange honesty that he leads the most corrupt government in India since 1947. Some how accountability is missing in this UPA-2 government which is there at the moment.

Ravali the scams were there all along right from thr British Period when the annual Govt Budget used to be 100 corers per Annam.

See it is a law of nature once some thing comes out each and everybody brings out the other one. This is particularly happened this time.

According to me all most all the politicians are corrupt to some extent to great extent and this gathered speed once the Country was Independent.

Yes probably we will not be in a position to root out the corruption to the fullest extent but can curb it.

As per Dr. Manmohan Singh is concerned a very honest man but being bureaucratic was not a match with the corrupt politicians of our Country but he is responsible for the upliftment of our life style, once he was inducted as Finance Minister some time in late eighty or during early nineties. Which is still he is trying to do and we will get the fruit may be after 5 years.

Strange and is indeed ironical.

What good is such an honesty that raises doubts on the "honesty of purpose".

This is peculiar to Gujaratis. They will say and assert the opposite of what's there and reality and go out of their way to prove their bizarre stand. They dont seem to follow common logic, rationality or even sane ideas anymore.

I am sure nobody has a doubt about it. You can count the number of scams and the amount of funds siphoned away by the coterie, is mind numbing. Perhaps if they had contributed to the society then there would have been no poverty. The sheer volume of scams is amazing and the shameless way in why they deny it. They take the voters for children from whom lollipops are snatched. Shameless people with no scuples, no morality no ethics. Most disgusting.

One does not agree with your argument. As a team leader he is supposed to keep a track what his team members are doing and they are not indulging in corruption or corrupt practices which he has not done, which shows him in bad light.  Doing nothing in the face of corruption and supporting the corrupt guy till he was being prosecuted for corruption what does that mean please enlighten the members of this forum.

I think our PM is the most inane PM India's ever had. He is a joke on governance. The way his ministers are pillaging the country's resources and his response is " What can i do?" seems inappropriate and irresponsible. If he were running a corporate job, he would be sacked at the first instance of such flimsiness. And we call ourselves as greater democracy. Freedom to loot...

Congress activist held for rape of 2 orphaned minor girls
31/08/2011 00:23:31

T'PURAM: The police arrested a 40-year-old Congress activist on the charge of sexually exploiting two orphaned minor girls under his care. R Jaya Sanil, sub-inspector, Poonthura, identified the suspect as Vincent Joseph, a local resident and “self-proclaimed” social activist in the coastal neighbourhood. Sanil said the victims were sisters aged 14 and 12. They were abandoned by their father after their mother committed suicide. Subsequently, Vincent took them into his care and provided for their boarding at the house of a distant relative of his, and also paid for their tuition at a school in the district.

Sanil, who questioned the girls in the presence of women police officers and counsellors, said Vincent had been sexually exploiting the sisters since early 2010. The traumatised children brought their ordeal to the attention of their school authorities. The police recorded the statements of the children and their teachers.

Investigators said the accused sexually exploited the girls after taking them to remote localities in his car.

The Kashmir resolution introduced in the house of representatives by Frank Pallone….

HRES 387 IH

112th CONGRESS

1st Session

H. RES. 387

Recognizing that the religious freedom and human rights violations of Kashmiri Pandits has been ongoing since 1989.

IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

August 1, 2011

RESOLUTION

Recognizing that the religious freedom and human rights violations of Kashmiri Pandits has been ongoing since 1989.

Whereas Jammu and Kashmir has an ancient culture of religious tolerance and pluralism, where Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Buddhists, and Christians practiced their faith freely in an atmosphere of mutual respect and peace until 1989;

Whereas Kashmiri Pandits are the original inhabitants of Kashmir, tracing their heritage and culture back several millennia;

Whereas Kashmiri Pandits have been the victims of documented human rights violations resulting in the severe curtailment of their religious freedom for more than two decades;

Whereas the Kashmiri Pandit population has declined from 400,000 in 1989 to a current level of less than 4,000 in the Kashmir valley and many Pandits continue to live in refugee camps;

Whereas international human rights organizations have noted the campaign of intimidation and violence directed by foreign militants and foreign terrorist organizations against Kashmiri Pandits;

Whereas thousands of Kashmiri Pandits, elected officials, and military personnel have been killed in terrorist attacks; and

Whereas numerous groups that have claimed responsibility for these attacks have been designated as foreign terrorist organizations by the United States Department of State: Now, therefore, be it

Resolved, That the House of Representatives–

(1) condemns the extremist violence, lack of religious freedom, and human rights violations committed against Kashmiri Pandits, which they have endured for more than two decades; and

(2) insists that terrorist infrastructure in the region must be dismantled and terrorists should be held accountable for their actions.

Offcourse  they  are most corrupt , recently they signed a tretay with Switzerland according to which now  india can not ask about Black money accounts  prior to signing of treaty , this has closed all doors of investigation about  Black money in swiss bank  ,

http://www.dnaindia.com/india/report_swiss-treaty-won-t-allow-india-to-glean-data-on-older-accounts_1560187

This has been done in  a time , when black money case is already in supreme court  , obviously Congress is trying to save its Black money holders

Fake Congress(I) Party - Where I stands for Indira not India

No point in arguing with People who are supporting the Fake Gandhis & Fake Congress (I) Party

This Congress(I) party is Fake, bcoz it is not the Congress Party of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose or Mahatma Gandhi but it is the Party of Fake Indira Gandhi, i.e., Congress(I), where I stands for Indira not India - or in other words Indira Congress .......

This proves that, this Fake Gandhi family don't believe in India but their family only. They don't have faith in their Party men & workers too .....

They are not running a national party but a Personal/Family party for Looting & Terrorising India........

This message is to be conveyed to all the Indians who are being fooled by these Fake Gandhis for years, they have no shame in  asking vote for Indira Congress but not for Indian National Congress.

The Fake Gandhis have converted India for Indira, shame shame shame to all these Fake Gandhis & the Fake Congressmen (Indira) looting & terrorizing India ........

He is also a part of this corrupt government, supporting corruption is equally bad as promoting corruption. How can a PM would have been in dark seeing the number of corruptions. That means he knows all and just maintaining silence as a "mookdarshak" which makes him more responsible for the scams. One of the most educated leader in the history of Indian politics has not been able to see corruption happening under his nose.

Yes, action speaks louder than words. with more and more skeletons coming out (SCAMS), we hardly see the PM coming out with any statements. If our PM is innocent, fair enough but he cannot be insipid to lead a team of the corrupt. If he is not corrupt, then he can punish the guilty. Unfortunately in indian politics , politicians love the chair not the role he is elected to.

Without any doubt YES.As the head of the department personal honesty never counted. If he is really honest with his duties, he not only sack the ministers, they be charged by law.But, our honest PM not only looking like a spectator, moreover supporting tainted Ministers. It is an ugly page in the Indian history. Ministers accumulating enormous properties at the cost of public funds.2G spectrum, Adarsh Housing, Common Wealth Games and so on. India need toghest general rather soft and honest leader. Guts of Mrs.Indira Gandhi and Intelligence of P.V.Narasimha Rao needed now. Ultimatley, I put forward my personal opinion(purely personal), abolish indirect election process and elect our head of the country directly like America,so that we can have a leader of our choice. They are very strong leaders with guts and brains in India, like Mr.Narendra Modi and Mr.Nitish Kumar.

The bug stops at my desk. That is the motto of every corporate head and applies to government as well. Every minister / MP / MLA / Councillor / Govt employee thinks it is his right to take bribes for anything they do. And he pays money to get into that position and considers it his investment. He calculates the return on his investment (by taking bribes) and is not bothered about his duties and responsibilities. Why this is happening? Either the top itself is corrupt or they are busy attending to other things (like going on world tours or hosting world leaders) and do not have time to think about the people. Yes. This is the most corrupt government and the only government which does not think of the common man. And PM is responsbile for it.

I dont think it is the most corrupt govt India has ever had. It has many good leaders, but the bad fame is a epitomic contribution of few people who are into congress. If we consider the 2G scam or Arms deal scam, CWG scams or any, it is always evident that the misappropriation and wrong doings are from few people or a group of few people. With that reason, we cannot hold back the entire govt. Also, we cant decline the capabilities of PM. He is honest as we all know, but his grittiness is quite low in making others to follow the same. As it is happening in Bengal, a very good fighter /leader like Mamata Banarjee is failing as a good administrator. The case is same with out PM, a honest person cannot always be a very good leader and administrator.

I presume that Saquib has conviniently forgotten that of Coffin gate, Gujrat riots & the Tehelka scams. Forget the Karnataka & Uttanachal scams. So many major scams in just 5 years 1 month of its hold over power in the centre for the BJP. Not a bad record. Betters even the Congress and Socialist Parties record. I can vouch for the averages of Communist parties in Kerala as I am based here.

To paraphase it Wob rastriya parties Sab nanghe he aur hum puesdo intellectuals sub buddhu he! You cannot wish away corruption as it prevails even at the grassroots where the so called netas cannot reach.

I`m not agree with this. Corruption is an integral part of democracy. You can`t find a democracy where corruption is zero. As far as this govt is concerned no doubt the corruption is at its acme in it but if we turn the pages of history then records show that there was corruption at every stage. The PV Narsimha Rao govt had a no. of allegations. Mr. Rajiv Gandhi`s govt was involved in Sikh messacre and general public has always suffered the bite of corruption. J P movt. was against corruption and inustice by the then govt of Indira Gandhi. I`m not accusing Con gress. Its name is coming because it led the govt most of the times. There was a souring inflation during NDA regime when onion prices shoot up abnormally to the extent that it has not achieved yet apart our country is suffering from inflation and general public can`t find their way out. So saying that this is the most corrupt govt is wrong.

Is our PM corrupt?

Source: ET

NEW DELHI: Mayawati, chief minister of Uttar Pradesh and head of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) sent a jet to pick up a pair of sandals, according to leaked US diplomatic cables.

US embassy cables from 2007 to 2009 released by the WikiLeaks website in recent days describe Mayawati, 55, as "a first-rate egomaniac" who "is obsessed with becoming prime minister".

They said Mayawati celebrated her birthday each year by receiving millions of dollars in gifts from "sycophantic party members, civil servants and business people" while officials vie for a chance to feed her cake.

"When she needed new sandals, a jet flew empty to Mumbai to retrieve her preferred brand," a cable dated October 23, 2008 reported, adding she employed food tasters to guard against poisoning.

"She constructed a private road from her residence to her office, which is cleaned immediately after her multiple vehicle convoy reaches its destination," the cable said in an analysis of her "eccentricities, whims and insecurities".

It added an account of Mayawati making a state minister do sit-ups in front of her as punishment for a minor protocol error, and reported it cost $250,000 to run as a BSP parliamentary candidate due to "institutionalized corruption".

Mayawati and the BSP performed below expectations in national elections in 2009, winning just 21 seats in the 543-seat parliament, but she retains strong support among the poor.

She has often been criticised for extravagance, erecting huge statues of herself in public parks and being greeted at rallies with garlands made out of Rs 1,000 (20-dollar) notes.

The unmarried former schoolteacher did not immediately respond to the allegations made in the cables.

In her current term, Mayawati has run Uttar Pradesh since May 2007 and was also chief minister from 2002 to 2003.

A Hindu molests school girl in the sex capital of India

An Eighth Standard girl studying at a private school near Vanchiyoor (General Hospital) at Thiruvananthapuram committed suicide on Wednesday 27 July 2011.

The girl was just 13 years old and her death news due to the molestation has shocked most parents in Kerala.

Increase in Molestation of Minor Girls in Kerala
Police have investigated about her death and a shocking reason was revealed.

The reason for her death was due to the sexual abuse she had to face from the School Van Driver.

The Police has arrested the hindu driver Praveen Kumar (26) in this case.

The girl had commiited sucide by hanging in her house.  After questioning of Praveen he revealed that he has been molesting the girl for past 5 months.  Police found that he has been abusing the girl from March 2011, when her 7th standard final exams was going on.

Honestly this statement that "Is our PM leading the most corrupt govt..." is WRONG because: for example:

Today, If police in New Delhi were to solve 10 criminal cases, does that mean crime has gone up in New Delhi? NO, because many officers might have been working on these cases for the last one decade and it so happened the cases got completed today.

Today, If police in Mumbai were to solve 5 criminal cases, can we say that the Officer-in-Charge of these cases is a genuis? Maybe and May not be. These cases could have been under investigation for the last several years and it just so happened that it got completed today.

The fact that more of the corruption is being exposed is due to UPA government's efforts.

The RTI act and general tolerance to those who differ, have been reasons to bringing up corruption related scams.

As for those who shout themselcve hoarse that there was no corruption during NDA. Who are fooling? We even had coffins for soldiers who were killed in Kargil being used to make money.

Annaji is just foolish when he calls this the most corrupt governmentr. He is not fully aware of Indian polity.

In the days of coalition government this is probably the fate. Govt was very clear not to induct Balu in the ministry being probably corrupt. The congress party according to me is very strict about corruption and Dr, Manmohan Singh is really covered by corrupt politician. Thanks James for referral.

recently they signed a tretay with Switzerland according to which now  india can not ask about Black money accounts  prior to signing of treaty ,

Yes, This treaty should have been signed in 1998 when BJP came to power for the first time. They did not sign it as they got suitcases from black money hoarders.

Mr. Madhuvad You are right. This PM has been a man of impeccable sincerity and propriety. Many of his cabinet ministers too fall in that category. Highly capable leaders with promising stature.

It would be worthwhile for us to remember that this team kept the Indian economy steady when the global economy took a spin for the worst. Yet they opened the doors to the global economy. A herculean task achieved indeed.

The problems is indeed the coalition partners. We just have to accept this as the bad side of a coalition drama. Except for the CWG scam, the Congress has not been tainted. However the this government surely lacks for political acumen, except for Pranab Mukherjee and Sharad Pawar.

Corruption was always there, it is just that ministers are being caught now a days. Inflation is not linked to corruption. Reasons for inflation are different.

My impression is that at the time of Indira Gandhi, there was more corruption, but they were not caught.

I agree with Ravali that corruption had a major impact on INDIA growth! But,Its always easy to critise then to realise!!we should not forget that we have world biggest democray in our country and corruption is not new for democratic countries! if we think in a +ve way then we will realize that instead of such blunders INDIA has entered into world's most powerful countries group in past 5 to 8yrs and for that we should proud to be an INDIAN. In other words we can also say that OUR PM HAS LED INDIA TO SUCH A DIGNIFIED PLACE IN WORLD POLITICS WHERE WE NEVER WERE TILL 1947!we cant blame only PM for that!

and if you scrutinize carefully,any step the PM takes to prosper growth,it is thwarted by the selfish deeds of the allies.Most of the time the govt is busy satisfying the allies.So I don't blame the govt for not providing a non corrupt govt, it's in the lack of our vision that we could not select a single party for the union.

A big NO.... Jaisa ki Mr. Mohommad ne kaha ke corruption to bharat me pehale se chala aa raha hai... pehale ke politician kafi damdar hote the aur sara mamla mil jul ke daba lete the, lekin aajakl media kafi majboot ho gayi hai, pehale aisa nahi tha.. dusara karan ye hai ke aaj kal jise kkam hissa mil raha hai yaa kuch nahi mil raha hai wo bahar jaa ke halla macha de raha hai aur media ko to bas yahi chahiye, isliye sara corruption samne aa raha hai, aur rahi baat pm ji ki wo abhi tak ke sabse kabil aur padhelikhe pm hai aur sabse shaant inshan hai.. Aur yahi agar dusare hote to sab rafa dafa ho jata.. Ab wo kuch kaihte nahi wo to unka personality hi aisa hai... agar ek person ke ishare se yaa kaihne se sab ho jata to India me sab kuch sahi hota.. yaha to das logo se puch puch ke kaam karna padata hai... But ye unka durbhagyaa hi kaha jaye ki unke govt me hi sab ujagar ho raha hai kyonki yaha kafi log hai jo nahi chahte ki aisa sacha inshan pm bana rahe.. Jinhone desh ke liye socha wo sahid ho gaye yaa mare gaye.. Bahut se log hai list me magar Rajiv Gandhi iske sabse badhiya example hai...Unhi ke logo ne unko marwa diya... Wo kahawat hai na jo aage hota hai usi ka sir phootata hai.. bas pm ke saath yahi ho raha hai...

We can not say the Govt is corruptuous. But, it can be attributed to managing the(political & administrative) systems  failures. Checks in place are not efficient. People who drives these forces are meek & nudge to personal favors.

No. I would definitely not characterise this govt that way. By definition all govts in India have been and are corrupt. The present just had the misfortune to get caught. The fact that the main opposition party is hungry for power after being written off by the people in two elections has provided the basis for blowing this corruption out of all proportion and wasting tax payer's money by stalling the parliamentary system. The sad truth is that no body wants to investigate the roots of the present corruption. If that were done neither the ruling party nor the opposition will have a face to show the public. The present prime minister appears to be an honest man. His only mistake may be that he is not wily enough to be a politician.
