http://parentinguru.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/rebellious.jpg

You might wonder what am I saying. But this one comes out of personal experience. Rebelous is one thing and over rebellious is another. Let me tell you what is over rebellious.. when a person is ready to oppose anything which comes to him, when a person is never ready to accept the things the way they are. If there is a lot of positive about an idea but there is something 1% negative then exaggarating that negative.. All this comes under this nature.. It is just a kind of nature or is it a disease.. Can such peole be happy.. Can such people be treated .. Your views are welcome.

I think it is a type of mental illness.. and it needs to be cured.Psychiatric
help must be taken for this and the root cause of such nature must be examined. Proper counselling can help one to stay mentally healthy.

This is a human nature right from birth. If we refer to the Hindu or any  religious texts the whole question comes clear as it is quoted that there were "Asuras"/"Haiwan"/"Demons"(Wicked souls) and "Suras"/"Masiah"/"Angels"(Pious souls) and the "Manav"/"Insaan"/"Man"(The Human) has inherited all the qualities present in both extremes so during birth it depends on the "Grahas"(Planets) and "Nakshatras"(Stars) position to decide the kind of attitude the person will develop. Now scientifically we can take it as the amount of Masculinity and Feminism which the child has inherited and this has no relation with gender as we have seen some females being arrogant and some males being subtle. So this is not a disease it is rather the born attitude. I hope I am clear in my point

Disease is mistaken for ill health. Dis-ease shall be understood as not in ease. This person is mentally turbulant, not at ease. He need to be treated by some type of yoga. Make all surrounding to this person a soft / pleasant atmosphere. The person will become normal.

Being over rebellious is a horrendous disease where people loose their patience and behave out of their frustration and unncessary anger. I agree with Bindu.

over rebellious is a disease like you have said " when a person is ready to oppose anything which comes to him, when a person is never ready to accept the things the way they are.." is due to high level of Frustration and Ego and its a very harmful and dangerous disease which not only affects that individual but also the people surrounding him.

This comes from closed mindedness. Generally they are not ready to welcome anything new to them. Its need not be mental illness all the time. Its an attitude. Their exposure to circumstances may be limited. They have their confinement. They believe something and stick to it. It is both attitude and mental illness. A patient hearing of their view point and explaining him/her of the real situation is required. They need to be taken into confidence before telling them something.

WELL YOUR QUESTION ALSO HAS DEFINED WHAT IN YOUR VIEW IS REBELLIOUS.THOUGH THERE MAY BE MANY SUBJECTIVE MATTERS TO BE INTERPRETED APPROPRIATE TO EVENTS, WE CAN BE SAFE BY NOT BEING CARRIED AWAY IN PERCEIVED NOTIONS. SO.IF ONE IS NOT ACCEPTING IS IT IN TOTAL OR IS IT THAT ANY IMPROVEMENT IS POSSIBLE-IF IT IS THE REASON YOU HAVE TO GIVE THE BENEFIT OF DOUBT.AND REBELS CAN OPEN THE DOORS NOT YET ATTEMPTED TO BE OPENED.IF YOU ARE GOING TO APPROACH WITH ANOTHER STEREOTYPED RESPONSE WELL IT CAN TURN OUT TO BE A KNEE JERK REACTION AS WELL.WHERE IS THE MISSING LINK IN UNDERSTANDING HAS TO BE ARRIVED AT AND IF IT CAN BE FILLED OR BRIDGED HAS TO BE VERIFIED:AND ABOVE ALL WHY DON'T YOU ACCEPT IT THE WAY HE OR SHE IS A REBEL OR NO? Any form of human quality, personality, emotion etc (positive and negative) expressed in excess can be labeled as a disorder. This includes intelligence, happiness, sadness, maturity, leadership, rebellion and so on. Honestly, any of the above mentioned 'is a disease' only when there is violence (to others and to himself). If we start treating every over rebellious person where will we start and where will we stop? Example: There are plenty of examples but here is one which is currently debated by many people. Anna Saheb Hazare has been hailed as leader of anti corruption movement (mostly by the youth) while almost all political parties have labeled him as a over rebellious rogue. Should Anna Saheb be treated for being over rebellious?

How about Baba Ramdev? How about the religious fundamentalists? How about the Communist, Marxists in India who opposed computerisation etc using bandhs and hartaals? Did we treat them?

I feel it is a Nature. The way they are brought up, the environ in which they dwell, the mental make-up they possess, etc attributes to this nature. At times, it drives them self-centric.

Thanks for referral Ms Indu Narayan

Firstly it is a nature, but an individual's surrounding, loneliness @ childhood tends it to become over rebellious. It is not a disease, but a reaction came due to some fear in mind, that's all! Thanks for referral, Bindu.

NO BODY CAN READ OTHERS MIND. THIS IS A SYMPTOM DUE TO INTERNAL CONFLICT WHICH IS CURABLE BY WAY OF COUNSELLING

No,it isn't a disease,it's only a symptom of an underlying cause, the cause if identified will clear the confusion and provide a solution

Rebellious nature is a state of mind, which some people tend to possess. This nature is a cultivated habit, which could be as a result of certain external (out of home) / internal factors (inside home) that could have driven this person to behave in this manner.

No person is born rebellious in nature. It’s basically certain action / words that repeatedly cause a person to fight / rebel against.

Or it could be as a result of stone walling / derecognising of one’s action / words on a regular basis that triggers off a mechanism to revolt / rebel.

Too much of conditioning a person / not giving due credit on a regular basis could also bring out these traits in an individual.

We always think of giving counselling / psychiatric treatment to people who behave in this manner. What we need to do is understand the circumstances that have driven this person to react in this manner.

Along with counselling a few corrective measures that drive this person to behave in this manner can give the desired results.
