Although it can not be denied that the PC's hav a reduced users now and everything is available and accessible on mobile phones but this includes only the creamy layer of PC users who can manage to access their mails and files on mobile while still a vast section depends on PC for their needs.

Processors like i3 and i5 are readily available on the laptops too and if you Intel closely, they admit the fact that currently there aren't many softwares capable enough to fully exploit the power of these modern processors. And by the time such softwares are made, the mobile devices market would have jumped leaps and bounds ahead of the neanderthal desktop beasts.

Most certainly. Those mammoth (figuratively and relatively) desktop devices would soon be a sore in the eye for the public at large. Just like we laugh at the aspect of tonnes of wiring and tube equipment that was in use before the semiconductor chips. Desktop PCs are dying and its happening sooner than you can imagine. The need of the hour is greater mobility and flexibility without compromising on speed and performance. Mobile devices (Smart phones, netbooks, tablets et al) are providing just that. Heck, even the high performance demanding graphics and animation industry has migrated to technologies like MS Surface. The PC in the years to come would be pushed into the dark hollows of unmanned server rooms or Indian govn. offices.

ya, its true, but over mobile you can`t customize the application according to your choice, over all in the present era its really good thing that we can use or access when ever and where ever we need and want, so its true..

Still I can't upload my document so easily on mobile.I can't make transaction thru' my mobile, though one of the renowned brand and Model of mobile I have. Its sure that heavy Laptop or Giant Desktop soon will be disappeared. Also,it will be divided worlds like ones who want only music, will have music connections and downloads. The ones who want Pics and movies will have WebPicaso,Youtube etc. Those who want to chat/friendship, can have facebook/GTalk/Yahoo/Mail sites etc. But if you want to access occasionally all the information like Medico World,Financial Info,Banking,Insurance,Cookery and so many others alongwith above dedicated connections then one must have a Personal computer may be in the tiny forms of computing.

No not at all.... Do ya think ya people can program something without a PC... I dont think so. May be its size gets smaller But nothing can replace a cmputer... Besides browsing Facebook, PPT, Reading Books there are a lot of stuff to do that cannt be done using Mobiles. Thats why computer is a general purpose syatem where as mobiles are Embedded Systems...

As an IT Engineer, I know that innovation in PC world can not be dead. PC Market is booming in Developing countries and world's future depends on these countries like- India, china, etc. Mobiles can not execute all type of application but PC does. yes, desktops are becoming obsolete in these days, but laptop, palmtop, notebook, etc also come in PC(means Micro Computers)

What is meant by pc, personal computing, that is computer used by an individual. So individualized computing innovation is not dead. It can be said that desktop form factor computer innovation has slowed down. But to say that pc innovation is dead is misleading. personal computing has taken form factor of touch screen computers and smartphones.

Nopes, certainly not. The things that can be done using the desktop devices can never ever be achieved using the handheld devices because sometimes the look and feel, the environment, the comfortability etc that we get using those can never ever would match the portable ones.

By PC if u mean that computer which occupies space in our homes then u r right but if u include laptops in it then i disagree because there is a lot of market for laptops in India ... just have a survey of far flung areas and find it urself ....furthermore i myself wont agree to work on any device which has less than 12 inch screen.......i want to work comfortably so why to use small mobile or tablet...

Ms. Neelam PC is not dead at this moment, mobile is progressing fast you are right at this point but it will take atleast 5 years to capture the PC and eliminate the PC.It may also happen that at that time PC or PC like devices are so advanced that there may be gap between as we have at present.

Not at all , how can you compare a PC with a mobile ,mobile is something for people like netgeeks , its not that you can facebook , orkut or ......... in a mobile will make PC innovation die, PC is something beyond using web applications..........and what is the innovation you are expecting from a PC ,if you can be more clear on that then we can judge on this.

No, I still thing that PC is PC. It can not be replaced by mobile. I am comfortable using key boards than keypads.Mobile is portable, but PC is unbreakable.

No, it is not. It's just that it has reached another level. Alevel of CONVERGENCE. Now PC innovation is parallel to Nexgen Mobile Innovations and the latest in the basket is the Tablet Notebooks & IPAD. Personal Computing has reached a whole new horizon with these recent devvelopments and is bound to converge with more digital devices in future.

I am not an experienced fellow to comment on this topic, but I feel that PC cannot replace with some thing else like mobile and all at least for the time being eventhough the innovation is slow comparing with the past

It's not dead but it's in expansion mode in different areas and applications. Today when we see iPad it's nothing but PC innovation only. The innovation is taking different paths and different dimensions because of it's variety. No innovation in PC hasn't stopped.
