It depends on how one sees it. Undue peer pressure is harmful for many of us. It happens due filthy office politics and lack of understanding b/w employees. And in many cases it affects ones health and personal life also.

Peer pressure is a social influence exerted by others on an individual. The pressure is exerted in order to get someone to act or believe in a similar way. The peer pressure is acted out by a peer group against others, often be in an “everybody’s doing it” kind of way. The end result of successful peer pressure is a change of behavior. For positive peer pressure we have to understand our peer group's value and thier perceptions.

Pressure from any angle is havoc, we have to think from the perspective of human psychology, not from  the views mooted out by the psychiatrist who can only speculate, nothing else..

I would like to support Renne Sharma. It depends on how you take it. Peer pressure should be within limits if it goes beyond we cant tolerate it,this gives us stress and affects both mentally and physically.

Peer pressure according to me is beneficial not only to an individual but also to the associated business. Pressure from the colleagues increases competition which leads to increased performance and efficiency. It ultimately has a positive effect on the business.

Its a matter of mindset. Peer pressure helps one develop oneself, uncover one's weakness, gives an opportunity to hone one's own skills!

Peer pressure if taken in a rightfull manner is most of the time beneficial rather than harmful. Afterall it is up to us to decide whether we want to take in a positive way or not.

beneficial... the best part about peer pressure is you either learn by mistaking it for your doom or learn by a will to exploit for your own development... it starts right at the time when as a toddler someone in the gang does not allow you to play alongwith the gang to when you peers/colleagues thinks you are either too smart or too dumb to enjoy the luxury of their company... to a situation where you have to ensure you marry off you offsprings in a manner that would make the talk of the town.. and so on... can't shy away from it!!! so try learning from it for a change.. may b it'd help
