Is populism affecting big time in India's growth??

India is at the forefront of becoming one the biggest and a better sustained economy in the world and the GDP growth rate is increasing all along but there are few things which are hampering the growth like populism which is affected by political interference where they back populist sentiments. Is populism affecting big time in India's growth??

yes, just take example of the the Nandigram and Taj Expressway protests, in such case resentment among public is exploited by politicians for "populist sentiments". Such political interference makes things difficult for infrastructure growth, key for economic development,  during any of the land acquisition, Indian democracy (political interference) that comes in the way is a stumbling block for infrastructure growth.

Poor infrastructure, rising Maoists insurgency and lack of inclusive growth would prove to be "retarding" for high economic growth.
