Web 2.0 is essentially a term given to the second generation of Internet-based services. If you think of the first generation of web sites on the Internet they were mainly static web pages with little or no interaction.

Now when it comes to recruiting proper communication and interaction becomes essential which is amongst the best features of web 2.0 recruitment. I agree to Rajak that it is beneficial for both recruiters and job seekers. Web 2.0 enables you to accurately target your message and brand to potential job seekers and also reach people you would never have reached before.

Therefore it will definitely sustain and go a long way.

I still believe in the good old 'across the table' kind of conversation! Emotions can be felt and expressed in person. What you write need not necessarily be the truth! Also, it lacks the 'conviction' that spoken words can have!

In an interview, a seeker has to impress his 'eligibility' to the recruiter! His entire act has to be 'impactful' to the extent of being shortlisted! I cannot think that a web platform can do all that at one go! The only thing that it has facilitated is seeking 'more candidature', 'more talent' and 'more reach'! I am not so for it!

Yes definatly, social media recruitment is good, there are pros to it like you can know what are the number of resources available in the industry and get in touch with them. This leaves you with a wider options. The method of recruitment creates a strong professional bond between the job seeker and the employer, which can be materialized in future if not at present. i have hired end number of resources with this method. The only hurdle in this process is that its a little time consuming in terms of the contacting process.

Of course its better and more useful. Will not be surprised to see a 3.0 after some time making the process even easier, better, faster and more efficient.

best regards

I have been following "Recruitment 2.0" very closely and it has been beneficial for both recruiters and job seekers because hiring managers are often frustrated with the time required to screen resumes with their traditional approaches and are looking for ways to improve their hiring confidence and at the same time, candidates are looking for better ways to identify the right opportunities that fit their particular interests and talents. According to me a real time interaction platform for Candidates/Consultants has been one major concern which needs to be addressed on web 2.0 based recruitment portals...

Yes Sir this is the best way. We cannot expect someone to trust us as long as we are not transparent.
I am neutral just to comment I am here.. It does not mean I am on this side.. :) A company stands tall with the good balance between all the sources not alone HR or sales.. We can't compare them..Can we.. One can't go long without another..
