Reservation wont work which we have seen since independence, what we can do is Govt. can support poor guy from any community to get his education complete, but in job yes we have to give some reservation to the dying community.

Yes, it is not only a demerit but a shame for our country and our politicians because after more than sixty years of independence we are still having the reservation system going on in our country.

Obvious Demerit.. We are living in 21st century where are talking about equality for all on one side and argue for reservation system on other. According to my view it create collision after a period of time without any proper reason..

Reservation should not be o the based of communities because it suppress the common man & leads to any unwanted factors,

In my opinion, there should be no reservation & the selection should be wholly based on the capability of a common man...

Present reservation system for jobs is demerit for india because most of the time the justice does not take place.I think there need a full revival of the reservation system.

First of all we should see the history of this reservation system in India. Why is it developed? And when did it start? And when is it supposed to end?

I think this system is intended for a purpose and might have garnered some support at the time when it's introduced because without even a little support there wouldn't be any such system in place. And if there is some support then it might have been thought of a something good, something needed.

But I think it outlived it's purpose as we can see the private sector. People with talent just keep climbing the ladder of success. However the current economic system is a greedy system and never stops, never has enough and as the system is the people want more and more and more and more people are pushed into this flood. In this scenario I don't think the reservation system would not work at all.

But there is also something else that I would like to make note of. There is another form of reservation based on community or class. People still tend to believe in their castes and communities and still try to group around themselves people of the same caste.

Vipin good debate and ofcourse it is a demerit. Because of this reservation system many talents are getting affected. We should remove the reservation system especially from this two fields because it is where a individuals future is decided. Everyone should be given equal importance when it comes to education. So this why we are still lagging behind in the literacy rate......

Thanks.....

Because in Reservation only community is considered. Not the competency of the individual. Highly competent persons sit outside while a below average person gets a more coveted job in governement and hold Posts which are not reachable to them if considered on merit. In Medical & Engineering field meritorious engineers and doctors sit ouside while a below average person will be occupying his place.Thats why private sector is now abundant with talent coz its based on Merit, Capability, Intelligence and Competance

When it comes to exploitation Ppl never think before speaking pathetic abt this Reserved category people...

Look at the under developed villages ppl over there really need this....

look a video by a british guy named "Untouchables in India" will answer your all questions.

why is that the same people when given priority (Coz they need) are a demerit to the society why dont you think that when this people will remain no more under a poor class will contribute to the Society.

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar had a good mind to give priority to them...To note he holds more then 6 degree's from one the best Institutes in the world.

I would raise a question here ppl when face RACISM why do they raise voice then? the problem here is just on the basis of cast which is rural...Racism is an International problem.

Question is on for India not on Education or job performance. So ,to bring everyone on par we need reservation. Are we not accepting ,"mixed economy"?. The weaker one to be supported by stronger one. Same goes to rearing a babies. They always supported & enveloped by parants. In similar vein, to bring people equal, this kind of indirect push is required. Orelse, the stronger get strong & weaker goes decigated. In our System,it is always welcome. We need to, rather, try plug in loop-holes.
