Creator of this debate did not mention where exists "reservation for girls". ( U should always elaborate .. pls ). Is there any such 'gender reservation' ... here it means for the women ? Where ... pls let us know in return post. However, if at-all such reservations are in existence, that may be termed as 'gender reservation'. If required, till now, that should go in favour of 'girls' - we should think the plight of girls in rural/semi-urban areas first. We may not mis-judge the situation only observing status of some Working-women in cities and towns. For the purpose of free education, in many states, that is given to the girls upto some level - say class IX or so. U .. said .. this is 'reservation' ?

Yes, even i would say the reservation for girls is still a need in most of the places where the girls are still couple of steps behind or not being encouraged to grow with or ahead, of men. There are many such places/communities/caste where girls or womens are not encouraged to go in pace of men. Rather, even today they are ill treated when compared to men. Therefore, for such women there should still be reservation which can always help them in moving in par with men. .... Thank you, Manish N Cheers!!

I DONT'T SPORT ANY TYPE OF RESERVATION. AND RESERVATION SHOULD BE STOPED IN OUR COUNTRY. RESERVATION CREAT PROBLE IN EVERY CAST,RELEGION OR EVERY PART OF SOCIETY. IT IS DIRECT APPROCH FOR THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT ABLE. ANY WHERE SELECTION SHOULD BE ON TELENT BASIS. RESERVATION MAKES OUR COUNTRY WEEK .

hey! when they are a step ahead than where is need for reservation? Though i personally think that girls should be given reservation in some govt. jobs(not in all)because it will reduce corruption, as i never come to know about ladies asking for bribe!! And agreed with Sarika's views that awareness should be increased to change perception about girls.
