With T-20 getting more popular and popular, we even now are having a interstate T-20 matches with Karnataka state going for KPL.  With this kind of pressure the ODI's and Tests are loosing their sheen over T-20 which is becoming a popular sporting action in other than cricket playing nations as it is a slambang fest and also very short in nature.

And cricket game took an interesting turn today where Sachin Tendulkar who is the greatest player who has played this  game. And when he speaks about cricket, the world listens. And now, Sachin Tendulkar has waded into the debate over the future of the 50-over game and his suggestion? To save One-Day Internationals from extinction, is to revamp them by giving both sides two innings of 25 overs each.

Tendulkar said such a split would ensure increased excitement and closer games, since it would negate the luck factor of the toss and ensure a level playing field for both sides in case of day-night games, when batting becomes difficult under lights. But currently the team winning the toss will the favourites to win as they will be knowing the conditions and with Split ODI format, both the teams will be playing similar conditions and this will give a fair result by playing actually cricket and not Toss or weather & Ground conditions which favours the teams to win.

So what do you think guys is Splitting of ODI's a good decision? Let us see what you think on Sachin's decision....

Absolutely!!

Strategically, the division of the ODI 50 overs a side getting divided into 25 overs perside twice in a day opens tremendous opportunities for the cricketing gurus!! They can have a format where there is a chance to tweak and twist the second "innings" of the side and load it with a lot of suprise contests and prizes etc. This is probably the dose or the shot in the arm that ICC needs to regroup and rethink the ODI and retain its charm and popularity!! also to note that each innings would be a T-25 and the fans will not be bereaved of the fireworks that would explode from our teams bats!!

Way to go Sachin... super duper thought!!

Good topic for discussion Kiran! :))

According to me Sachin has hit a Six with this idea, its not a bad move if they(ICC) implements it, this will bring in more excitement that ODI had, as T-20 is getting so popular this splitting of ODI's will give something new in cricket to look out for, and the master blaster speaks very less interms of  cricket, but when he thought that okay we need some revamping to do to make sure that crickets interest lies in people, he came up with a master stroke according to me.
