I don't think anything can be done without a proper strategy. Sales is a well thought out, planned, and well executed plan.

SALES IS ALWAYS STRATEGY BASESD AND WILL REMAIN THE SAME TILL HUMAN MANKIND EXIST.

STRATEGY CHANGES FROM REGION TO REGION, SEASON TO SEASON AND COMMUNITY TO COMMUNITY AND ALSO THE GREAT INDIAN FESTIVALS FAMOUS FOR.

REGIONS ARE IMPORTANT FOR ACCESSING POPULATION, CULTURE, COMMUNITY .

SEASONS ARE IMPORTANT TO EVALUATE THE PRECEDENCE AND DATA OF PREVIOUS OFF TAKE LIKE DIFFERENT FIGURE APPEAR IN SUMMER, WINTER AND MONSOON. LATEST TREND IS TO TRAP THE FESTIVE SEASONS IN INDIA.

SALES IS NOT ONLY STRATEGY BASED BUT ALSO DATA BASED AND HERE COMES THE APPLICATION OF PERFECT SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

In India sales is strategy based. Every region / state in India has different customs, beleifes & habits. So the customer in India is typical and each state is to be treated as a different market with a different strategy.

There are products which sell adhoc but they are mainly servicing the wants & not the needs.

I think most of the Indian sales is completely based on strategy. We have a proper strategy for every product or services we market. That is the reason why Indian companies are successful in the market all over the world...... :)

I believe it is getting organized as far sas B2B is concern but still little bit unorganized in retail sales or B2C sales.

sales in india is very much adhoc; to support my argument i will simply put this example all sales strategies of giants like kellogs and coke failed miserably while u have the dabba wallas and the haldiram's; bikanerwala all selling there products and services so well that MNC's want to know and acquire there strategies.

A sales strategy is only formulated but it actually becomes a pathway when it drives in the volumes.

Dear Abhinav, If "No" stands for Adhoc.

With exception of a few in white goods segment and limiting few in diverse industries.
