There is a saying *yogi ban-ne ke liye bhogi ban-na padta hai*... unless if mere desires r not fulfilled... liberation is miles away.. being a shiv yogini; we are taught to keep material desires in check meanwhile to fulfill every spiritual desire of life. True satisfaction lies there :)

desire is more important .generally desire means what i want ?then desire shows creativity and then creative person do that work which is desired. but if anyone do work in real life.and if satisfy in few time ..some time it is good but again doesn't do better for any work..and it not show creativity in life...... both are good but desire is better than satisfaction..........

Satisfaction and Desired more both are the condition of mind. Both the condition can never full fill throughout the life. one is satisfied yet never gurantee will not be unsatisfied and the person desire more will surely stop at some point. after that the condition occure will be of uncertainity. So we have to go far from both the condition.

Joydeep You look for means when you desire at first. First is a dream/wish/desire/want. Then only one looks for how to reach it... If there is a way, follow it. Passion has the fire, the power to create any means, Sir. If not, its a fizzled out passion. And I am no MA either.

it is our nature to desire and evolution goes through the motivation of desires . satisfaction can not be desired but is result of fulfilling desires not something you can do by thinking alone ..

you cant never compare satisfaction with desire.... satisfaction is the outcome of desire.. see with out a desire there is no human existence and wen he desires for smthng he struggles or some hw he gets it.. but wen he get wat he desire.. he wud be satisfied with that.. it means satisfaction is wat pertains to specific desire on wat he has... if once he is satisfied with wat he has or wat he desired there is no point of desire again.. it means desire is mother of satisfaction... eventually satisfaction is the outcome of desire.. these both are two differnt phenomenon.. u cant compare both...

Desire couple with effort to get what is desired is correct. If there was no desire and the effort to fulfill desire was not there man would have remained a cave man. If Newton was satisfied with eating the apple which fell on him then the world would not have seen newtons laws.

Desire is necessary which when gets fulfilled leads to satisfaction. Satisfaction is not possible until n unless u desire for something. The feeling of completeness or being desire-less is actually called as being Content. When we want something and we get it..we feel satisfied. but when we want nothing we feel content.

Both the thing happen in a human. human try to desire more and simultaneously try to satisfy in the current thing. both are the state of mind. we should go far from these two. whatever that bound human can not give happiness to human. and these two things bind human. first bind for stay and second bind to run. We have to go away from these two. Emptyness is completness. That is necessary.

Fulfilment of Desire, want, carving, longing is not satisfaction, like a action reaction pair, a bullet fired and the gun recoil a mechanical analogy, and salvation is a thought concept of a great escape. Like travelling back in time.

I , as an ex-student of Science , present my view based on the Bird called THE CROW which is also popularly known as THE BLACK BIRD. This Bird's sound is cawing . caw! caw! Caw! When we hear the Bird carefully , the sound also contains an 'r ' end-sounding to be called cra-ing cra! cra! cra! cra! being uttered by the Bird. That's why called the harsh cry of a Crow ! As the crow flies , it takes always direct routes and its lustrous black plumage used inverted as the writing-point-tip-pen in the good olden days. The Crow when craws as craw ! craw! craw ! , means KARTA , KARMA , KRIYA , i.e., the YOU ! Relevant to the debate , Karta means You , Karma means Satisfaction and Kriya means desire .You is subject to Limit tending from zero to infinity . Your mind tends to infinity as zero tends to infinity ! Unlimited satisfaction and unlimited desire constitute the You subject to Infinity as zero tends to infinity . For all those who "Desire More", you will come to this side of the debate after fulfilling your desires and have finally found some satisfaction in life. Until then, "Satisfaction" has to wait! Desire to do something selfish is really good. But look around you. What do you find? How many of us have the time to hold the hand of a Blind while he's struggling half a day to cross the road. The desire to do such deeds is nothing but lost if not dead today! We are living in a so-called diplomatic life which restricts us from helping the needy! When was the last time that we planted a tree? When is the last time we read the alphabets with a poor kid? When was it that we let go our promotion to help that old Mr. Eddie who was badly in need of an increment? When have we thrown a biscuit at a dog only with an intention to feed it? When have we skipped a new year's party to collect money for Awaaz do campaign of UNICEF? Desire for More leads to only one place- To desire for even more! What do men with money want? More money! Being proactive or hyper is one thing, and recognizing the small happiness and satisfaction lives throws at you once in a while is another! Desire is the cause for pain- Gautam Buddha!

Hello Neha, I am no MA in English from Oxford or Cambridge University. Desire is want, passion is love without ownership or obsession a fascination. To Desire (want) you should have the means, or you will have to grab it, snatch it, or cheat, run rackets do some drama (fooling) end up in scam. We all paying for it. Please don't get upset Neha

Be passionate, have no desire, give your best, have no expectation, you have done it, you have satisfaction, happiness all over. If specialised skills/gears are needed, acquire it. Get a step ahead and redefine it. This is a win – win situation. People grown up with childhood experience of scarcity may not comprehend / appreciate what I am saying, as such people often compete, the desire to win, have all, sets in. It turns into a win lose situation resulting to conflict, I win my desire is fulfilled, else I compete, I run rackets, I do drama (act); I have won, I am satisfied, I made it. The cost we all pay. "Its a distinction between satisfaction and desire."

This may sound a bit different answer, but both are interlinked - Desire what ever you wish for, if it happens, feel satisfied so that your future desires are also fulfilled...Humans are meant to have desires and this is inborn and this is very true. Being satisfied has to be cultivated in an individual. This is a very valuable trait that one acquires... Also, have the attitude -"Hua to acha, naih hua to bahut acha"

By being satisfied, you are acknowledging and showing your gratitude to the Cosmic Power (You may call it god if it pleases you). Yes, it was due to the grace of the cosmic powers that our desires have fructified. If I have a sense of gratitude, I would be satisfied with the grace I have been bestowed upon. If I have the feeling of gratitude, then I genuinely acknowledge the workings of the cosmic powers – which is accessed every moment through my sub-conscious mind. This, very unknowing to me, will strengthen my confidence on the sub-conscious mind and the power of the cosmic power to deliver my desires. Thus, with this confidence, I would be blessed with the fulfillment of more desires. Example – I have to get some work done by some organization quickly (even when I know it is out of my turn). I go there and talk to the person who is to do the work for me. He is very busy and asks me to come later and when it is my turn. But after speaking to him and pleading with him, he agrees to do the work and completes it for me. Now, only if I am satisfied with his work, I would thank him and / or take him for a treat, etc. If I am not satisfied, I would just walk away and he won’t do any work for me ever again. So, feel happy and satisfied for all you have received and be sure that more of your wishes would be granted.

Satisfaction, or the lack of it is a state of mind.To exemplify, say a cleaning job. A person may be satisfied with his work but another who is supposed to inspect may be looking for a finer degree of cleanship. It is a level of acceptance that one associates with his or her ability or to a situation. Desires! well , there is no end. Thanks for the invite and warm regards.

desire stresses the strength of feeling and often implies strong intention or aim while satisfaction is the feeling experienced when one's wishes are met. Therefore, desire means you have to aim while satisfaction is the completion with what you aim. Satisfaction cannot cannot be completed when desires couldn't meet.

desire and satisfaction are the quite opposite. desires are unlimited and countless and satisfaction can b measured by cardinal of ordinal approach, it is the mind which decide both. Both can b controlled by meditation.

No matter what your desires are, if it doesn't give you satisfaction, then its simply painful. There is a hidden rule in nature, and this I say as a corporate and not as a philosopher who likes to preach! "Selfless desire = Satisfaction Selfish Desire = Pain" Satisfaction, like happiness, comes to us all on its own and in its own time! "We cannot force it on ourselves or anyone else!" And desires cannot be misinterpreted to be "Dreams" or "Goals" or "Aims" or "Passion" Desire that is selfless or selfish decides it all! If Desire is the way, then Satisfaction is the destiny!
