People have very short memories. May be, it will work for some, and not work for many! This social networking will apparently help the aspirant to hone his skills. He can elicit opinions from cross-section of people that will help him present his perspective with much clarity. Therefore, one should develop the habit of asking questions, and use the reflections to his advantage at circumstances.

Well, there's something you are not doing right. D'you have a great resume? Have you tried yourself to be visible to the right audience? Have you spoken like a thought leader instead of someone who's just trying to land a job and is totally out there, selling himself with not a lot of subtlety? There are always things that one can do to get hired. Hiring is no longer just looking at a resume, calling a candidate for an interview, asking a couple standard questions and making an offer. Businesses are looking for people who have ideas, can think out of the box and are capable of applying those ideas to practical, real-world situations. Why don't you do this? Write a blog about a situation that you were in at the last job and how you used your specific skills to tackle the problem. Be funny, be humorous, ask someone to proofread your article before you post it and once posted, share it on all possible networks that you are a part of. Ask friends and colleagues to 'Like' it, recommend it and share it with their networks. A possible start to the post can be, "Life without the madness of getting to work, deadlines, meetings, KRAs and backbreaking work has it's obvious advantages. There are obvious disadvantages as well, the pressing need to get back to earning being one of them but let's focus on the advantages today, since it's sunny outside and I already have a good feeling about today. Some other day, when it's gloomy, I will tell you how not working is not so good. I now have time to do things that I've always wanted to do but haven't had the time to get down to. For instance, writing. I have always wanted to share takeaways and lessons learnt from my professional life with my network of coworkers, ex-coworkers and people I have connected with professionally over the years. So, here I am, doing my bit to share what little I have managed to learn from this one specific incident that comes to mind right away." Share with us how that works out.

I totally agree with Julie. Networking helps people land jobs. In fact, a lot of my colleagues, friends and the people in my network were first identified and approached for jobs on either LinkedIn or Facebook or Twitter. Yes, Twitter! Networking helps you showcase your skills, your ideas and your abilities as a professional. If you are an app developer, creating apps and hosting them on your website draws attention to your brand of app development and gives you the visibility to businesses looking for app developers. If you are a marketer, you possibly can't do without networking or social media. Hell, unskilled workers are now taking to social networking to get referrals and day jobs. An absolute must in today's social media-driven world, networking provides a platform for you to speak from and be heard.

social networking sites hardly play any role in seeking any job... it more about wasting time on social networking site. Try placement blogs or oder recruitment sites dat would really help u out if u have some talent to show.. oderwise keep on waiting or arranging some refernce kind of things from social netwrking site..
