Technology was used to make our lives simpler, but it has gone way beyond that and in today's world , I find that almost all of us are fully dependent on the technology. I dont know how many people survive without a mobile phone in todays world.Today , a person can sit and relax at home and he can get everything on just a push of a button. We cannot think without technology.

Of course Technology has improved our life, but it has generated more problems, as the clock is ticking, it won't be a far off time when the existence of human being would be jeopardised. Whether it is Kyoto protocol or any other pledge, world is not unanimous in controlling the pollution, which is the byproduct of Technology.

Its is being misused if we look from the other side of the spectrum like fraud in telecom or banking area where an innocent soul ends up loosing so much. Yes these are the opportunities to identify the risks and mitigate them but it is not wise to say that technology is being used cleanly.

There is very thin line between use & misuse of technology,if used by military is boon & if by militants is a curse so it depends on the PURPOSE & MOTIVE of use rather than blaming the technology itself because technological growth is inevitable & it is not about dependency or only software aspect of technology but the Technology in every aspect as a whole.

Use of technology for purposes it is not intended for is what generates the want for an upgrade. And Keeps all the software companies running. We cannot call the unintended use of technology as misuse, it is merely an act of someone finding an alternate use which was not though about.

I think technology is not misused. If you look at invention of wheel, radio etc then we can really understand the benefits. Yet there are ample example of misuse, however those cant be construed to stop research & developement process. We take medicine in right quantity to get rid of sickness but exessive use is harmful. Technology & its use is the neccesity for human, now it is upto us to choose the way we want.

I support Taniya's minority view: overall I'd say that good use of technology far outweighs a small fraction of its misuse. Bear in mind that there are numerous areas of technolgy where there is no misuse - and in few areas that this isn't true, in a majority of cases the good use %age far outweighs the misuse%age.
