With the sudden outburst in the IT sector matched by the inability on the part of the administration to curb terrorism and come up with quality infrastructure, can it be said that the growth story is finally going to end.

The luster of Bangalore is diminishing. The IT sector which has been the darling of  the investors eyes for the last two decades is loosing its shine in the wake of a global slowdown. Bangalore is only known foe its IT enabled services and depending too much on that has proved to be a costly affair for the state. Adding to the woes is the profound inability on the part of the Government to improve the infrastructure of the state. The law of nature states that if you are not efficient then your place will be taken up by someone better than you. So its just a waiting game for Bangalore till someone comes that takes the drivers seat.

Bangalore is India's only global city. It exported $6.5 billion of IT services in fiscal 2005, targeted to reach $13 billion by fiscal 2009. With 250,000 people employed and growing at over 30 per cent, it is among the top two IT destinations in the world. It is a global brand, recognized all over the world, the place of choice for young Indians with possibly the best quality of life for a comparable city in India. It has taken years for Bangalore to reach where it is now. With growing influx of people, I am sure the city has that much of charisma and substance to engulf them and still be counted as the best. The administration is doing its best as far improving the infrastructure is concerned but still everything cannot be perfect. More than the infrastructure, it’s the people here who make Bengaluru lively and knowledgeable.
