The commonwealth games has been caught in a web of corruption allegations after a revelation that an email made public by Suresh Kalmadi to justify payments to a UK-based company was "doctored", forcing it to launch a probe.
The e-mail, which was examined by the Ministry of External Affairs for its veracity, could have been "doctored".
So users, do you think this kind of controversies will damage brand India?
Whenever some sport even occurs, some or other kind of controversy always comes. So, sports and controversy are not new. And never ever it damages the brand. Its only a media hype to keep the viewers busy. With the completion of commonwealth games, this controversy will also go.
its going to effect the same way as the BUG discovered by few medicos in europe,
The india's image would be damaged by such incidents, as western media is famous for going after asian poor countries like this, it happened to cricket few years ago and Common wealth games is no exception
We have to realise if we all decide something then we should achieve it, take example of China, Bejing olympics was world class, every citizen was proud of that event, and look at us where we stand, we must learn from others...
MORE THAN ENOUGH DAMAGE HAD ALREADY BEEN AND WE HAVE LOST THE BATTLE EVEN BEFORE STARTING IT.IF NECESSARY ACTION IS NOT TAKEN AGAINST THE GUILTY AND JOB ENTRUSTED TO RIGHT PEOPLE,WE WILL BE ALLOWING THE WHOLE WORLD TO LAUGH AT US.DO WE DESERVE THIS?
yes yes...... but who cares....... those who cries they have no power except crying and who have it,they are dumb. One thing is clear that in group work there is no individual responsibility........ just collect some mud. By

It has already done lot of damages. If the information I have is not wrong some of the leading sport of various common wealth countries are pulling out. India as a country is going to pay the price for incompetent way of handling the games. By

The rampant loot of public funds at CWG has further highlighted India as a corrupt nation. The people sitting at the top have closed their eyes in affirmation to "Take your share". I only fear what will next generation will do which has already lost heavily due to "political" reservation in various fields.
It was the Olympics & Formula One racing in Beijing that changed the 'cheap' image that most chinese products had around the world. The CWG is our best chance to showcase ourselves.
Yes,,,,undoubtedly... It's a kind of medium for corruption. Our sports government is not looking forward for the career of players, what they're looking for is how to earn money (that is also not for development, even, to pay and fill their pocket full with the currencies). So, this name needs to get change as "Gvt. Wealth not commonwealth" or more precisely say, a 'Corrupt wealth'. Talking with the gvt.'s perspective: wealth games are the sources under which large numders of fans come across the world just to follow their ideals' activities. Hence it's a better opportunity to display them our Development like highways, Flyover, Technology etc. how we are strong and wealthy in this region. Supporting players is a wasting of time, we're not getting money for doing that. Cut the crap....(a ordinary man says:) Over an all...These games can be advantageous for Country's popularity, if we provide chance, facilities and all that resources to our players so that they show their ability and take India on a long way to the TOP in sports history. The Govt. is not playing the role required and responsibility is left to Mr. Suresh Kalmadi. Prime Minister would have taken some interest to take stalk of the situation from time to time. Unfortunately, it seems no indications as such. If Kalmadi fails, its considered as the failure of the nation. Its ridiculous.
It is completely foolish activities from the Govt part, when CWG to start within shortest period, the concerned authority inspecting the site! Why they could not inspect the same from very begining, in regular time intervals! By

Corruption and dirty politics played by professional & tainted MP is only damaging Indias reputation. The organising committe of the CWG is bringing an bad name. The root cause of this is autocratic functioning of the Leaders and no time limits for the heads.
God only can save.
I just cant imagine the system malfunctions during the games due to inferior equipments !
Yes, the image was already a bit of shaken with the IPL, but now it has gone to the dogs. It was sure going to be an issue that not only Mr. Suresh Kalmadi, but a whole gamut of officials including Delhi State Chief Minister is involved - imagine in 3 months you release about 16K Crores for the CWG? Facilities are not even half the standard - leaky stadia, deficient turfs, - all the ministers men have made money from us poor tax payers money in the name of India's pride. I would rather they call it off. By

Definitely ... India's brand and image is getting a beating . World community will suspect even the food being served at the CWG (whether expired materials used or ...) . This controversy is bringing Shame to India, This is not what India needs for it growth and against its brand name, some corrupt people wont understand this, all they would want to do is fill up their pockets until the cash start spilling out of their pockets and tell the truth about them and let everyone know what they been doing.
Hi Saumya please add your argument on right side. Though I do not know why do you think so? Corruption, population or anything else .. is it making less happy in person? Culture and languages make it more colourful than anything else.
Everyone in India who knows Rahul Gandhi knows Katrina Kaif too. The reaon is both are personalities of their own feilds. Katrina is asked about her nationality so many times that she got fed up and at once said "IF I am half Indian Rahul Gandhi...
Blaming a nation or government cannot change anything but its a combination of both which has led to such a terrible condition. On one hand we have government who want to take credit for anything slightest good work and blame everything bad on others....
