Though processes vice we may have some standard practices which make them tick Indian companies stand condemned for partnering with the government for furthering 'private consumption' for citizen rather than affording 'public consumption'. It is non-scientific management with the governments disability to be a 'facilitator' for the nation that makes consumption more private than public. Abroad when we stay there we have millions of reasons to thank them when the year end approaches and when we write our tax cheque which there we consider as a thank you note for taking care of you for a whole year. Here we don;t feel that way there is nothing we need to thank the government except some bad memories for the whole year.

I am agree with Mr. Patil. Most of good Indian companies are only following traditional ways to perform their work. They try to impliment all mordern working styles like MNC's but only on papers. Some companies implimenting Quality tools e.g. 5S,Six sigma, etc & other tools also in different fields of work. But still they only want to stick on traditional methods of working.e.g. if some company have ERP system in its organization ,even they try to do some manual things as they dont want to impliment it fully or not want to use its all benifits just because their mental thinking of following tradition working can not be overcome. So in my view Indian companies need to give more emphasis on its working style like MNC's which are much better in % than Indian Companies. But i also agree that some of Indian companies are thinking to improve their working style like MNC's ,So we can say we are improving ourself but rate of improvement & its proper implimentation is very slow.

In post-liberalization era(India),market power of a company influences(not in a coercive way) management's choice about the basis of a company's Competitive Advantage and the Resulting Management Style. That's why,it's suitable to compete with MNCs....

GARGI,THANK YOU.THERE HAS BEEN STEADY IMPROVEMENT OF OUR WORKING PATTERN,SYSTEMS CONTROLS ETC IN MANY OF OUR BIG COMPANIES,MAY BE BECAUSE OF MNCS HAVING FOREIGN NATIONALS,OR OVERSEAS QUALIFIED SECOND GENERATION TAKING UP SENIOR MANAGEMENT POSITIONS.MANY MNCS TO ACHIEVE SUCCESS IN INDIA HAVE ADAPTED THEIR STRATEGY TO SUIT LOCAL CONDITIONS.WHAT IS MORE IMPORTANT IS ACHIEVING THE OBJECTIVES IRRESPECTIVE OF THE PATTERN THAT HAS BEEN FOLLOWED,WHICH OUR CORPORATES HAVE BEEN ABLE TO AND ARE ABLE TO EXPAND THEIR OPERATIONS IN OTHER BIG AND SMALL COUNTRIES.

Insiders, who have worked in both situations ... pls enrich us. Be unbiased and candid. ........................ There are so many Indian MNCs these days having head-office in India . They are spread along the globe. A recent knowledge hunt has made known that two Banks, ICICI and HDFC, having global spread, HO in India, managed by Indians are not purely Indian Bank - they have foreign investments as capital more than 50 %. Perhaps, we are discussing here those MNCs having HO outside India.

Yes today the Indian companies are far better than the MNC's, they started changing day by day according to the trend of the industry. This is one of the main reason why many MNC's from abroad are willing to open their corporate office here in India. So I think we are on the right track....... :)
