Is the future of search web 2.0?

We actually need to begin thinking about moving to the next generation of online learning in a Web 2.0 world, in which a variety of tributaries are starting to come together: demographics, technology, accountability, and the general direction of education. But so far, instead of transforming the traditional classroom with online learning, we've merely transposed it to what is now the traditional course management system or collaboration and learning environment. In this technological era, lets examine how social networks might make money, why the ownership of personal data on Web 2.0 sites is so fraught an issue, and how the Internet will support the swelling tide of rich media that people are sharing.

I tend to agree in general. However it does raise its own set of issues to consider, like veracity of information being tossed around on Web 2.0 media. If there is some way to ensure credibiliy to the information being shared, this would be a runaway winner!

I think Web 2.0 will be the future search because it is closely associated with web applications which facilitate interactive information sharing, user-centered design and collaboration on the World Wide Web. Web 2.0 also include web-based communities, hosted services, web applications, social-networking sites, video-sharing sites, wikis and blogs. By this user gets more attracted to it and hence diverts their focus on to it. I think this is a future search.
