There is future of tv on web , cable tv and DD transmissions are analog , now DTH and cable are digital transmission , but still they don't have interactivity , they can't exchange information in both direction , next step is Internet Protocol TV , transmission of TV data over internet media will require infrastructure for bandwidth etc , but it is sure to happen .

Lets first understand the premise that the TV is a media to view content whereas the web is a content provider. Now the question is whether TV is the ultimate media to access the web. The answer in my opinion in 'no'. The future clearly belongs to the mobile. Few major reasons why I feel this way are as follows: 1. TV is impersonal, mobile is not. I may want to watch soccer, dad would prefer news, mom wants soaps, brother wants MTV all at the same time. I wouldn't want to get into all that with the idiot box. 2. TV has limited access to content, mobile doesn't. The i-phones of the future would allow you to access any multimedia content. And with the ever increasing speeds, streaming video is no big deal 3. TV is already on the web (Youtube), web on TV still has a long way to go.

YES, I do think that the future of TV in internet. As more and more people are glued in to their LCD's even after they go to their home, they would obviously find watching a bit of news/sensational movies in their PC's is good option instead of swithching on the TV. Watching online was quite a advantage such as user can select what they need to watch and not wait in TV still their favourite part comes in. Also there is no interupption of advertisement when watching in web. Things sometimes spread very fast in internet, whether its a virus or hot news. Hence as more and more people switch on their broadbands into their PC's ,future of TV seems to be bright over web. However it is quite restricted to the set of people who use internet in daily basis.

Yes future of TV will be on web. As we see everything in our life is turning towards web whether it's banking/social network/storage of information etc., so how can TV leave behind. But I think watching TV on web are going to possible only when speed and penetration of internet will expand. At present very few people prefer watching video's/tv on internet due to low speed and poor quality of connection.

I think this kind of debate already happened when TV was introduced and was in its peak. The same question was asked that is the future of newspaper and radio on TV? All were thinking that Newspaper and Radio will disappear because now they can watch news and songs on TV. However, reality is that both the categories are still alive. As per one report, The Indian government has already given 338 licenses for FM radio channels. And as per RNI, The total number of registered newspapers, as on 31st March, 2008: 69323. All these mediums are unique. They all have their own unique characteristics. I think TV and Internet both have their own unique characteristics, which cannot be replaced by each other. Just like Newspaper and Radio, TV will remain as a unique medium.

More than the future of Web on Tv , or Tv on web , it is the ease of connectivity and services provision which would amalgamate. With improving bandwidths and merging of diverse creative , connectivity and media possibilities , organisations like Sony , microsoft , google etc. could take possibilities to a combination of probabilities on the same device.

In my opinion new devices will appear, combining input technologies like "touch screens", voice and character recognition, combining many communication ways (cable and wireless), many services (audio, video and data), many sizes (from palm to gian screens). What is sure is that we are at the beginning of the digital society, and this is not going to be stopped.

TV and Web World are important in their own respective places. Websites depends upon the speed it has internet speed which does not always remain uniform. This will create problems while watching videos and TV cant always keep us in contact with friends whatever internet can do. So, they can never take the importance of each other.....

The future of Web is on the TV now. ICICI Bank in association with Dish TV has introduced Television banking, for the first time in India. One can learn about the services by simply switching on TV. This is an start and we can see more revolution like this on our own television set.

I think that future of TV in India will take more time to move on to the web. The penetration of internet in our country is very low and even we don't have the infrastructures to provide high speed internet. Many people prefer TVs shows on big screen rather than searching them online and waiting for streaming.
