Is the taxation system now enforced on Indian public favours any farmers or business personal in the field of production?

Ancient India never had problems related to taxation. Our kings used to rule country without much imposing of taxes on farmers. It is only after britishers invaded India, Taxes on agriculture and on other several items initiated.

While now after Britishers left India our govt introduced several other kind of taxes which made common public more poorer.

Is there any better way of dealing this system y revieing our ancient system. Beause ancient India did better business than now according to sensus.
