I believe we are similar to masons... we just put the bricks on each other and cement it... We drag drop code from here and twitch it here and there and there you go...

Ruchi, the point that i'm trying to make here is that we form the base of a huge pyramidal structure and that makes us more vulnerable... at the end of the day we are cheap labor and can be replaced easily..

Srikanth I think there in no point comparing these two fields. Each are best in their own way. What we need is the qualities, if you look very keen both the persons qualities will be similar.....

It is not logically correct to call a software developer a 'mason' because 'masons' are equivalent to a team leader as masons have some decision making duties to do. A developer is equivalent to an 'ordinary worker' working under a mason.
