Ms. Kavita Shankar would you please elaborate by citing the talent that the personnel in this government possess to run a country..... any expertise or for that matter even the necessary leadership quality! ministers are being appointed by lobbysists and loyalty to a family are the only talent one needs to be in this government...........

It is actually a big YES and a NO. Domain vise it is a BIG YES. These blokes DO NOT know anything about their ministry or their job. In other affairs, like Corruption, formulating Bribe taking strategy, etc., they are highly talented. No one to beat the UPA in this. Of course, I have started having doubts about the capacity and credibility of Manmohan Singh too. He too is very corrupt in the sense that he has not put his foot down to all the corrupt ministers in the government. And then, he is absolutely unaware as to how to bring down the price. Poor Mango Man and the country....

in one glance the UPA seems dominating with much of allies and strong leadership of Mr. Singh and Sonia Gandhi. But, the latest parliamentary reshuffle and scams over CWG, IPL and they not giving chances for youngsters have left the UPA govt in a dilemma. Seems they are losing grip to corporate biggies.

Yes there is a dearth of Talent, assertiveness & will to implement stringent action against corrupt politicians & Bureaucrats. There are no mass leaders in UPA who can understand the pulse of the common man and his sufferings. Just Educated clerks, pseudo economists, flop advocates, scarecrow PM not able to control his own cabinet ministers. He does not want JPC because he does not want to appear before them. But on his own he decided, to appear before PAC thereby creating a fresh controversy and confusion. No Firm decision & Governance can be expected as long as these jokers are in saddle. Up till now our lives were manageable due to good consecutive monsoon not because of these idiots economic or political policy. Just one excessive, unseasonal rain has upset the whole balance and as on date Govt. could not able to control the situation to the satisfactory level.

Its not big time talent scarcity, but big time scarcity in honesty that is plaguing this country! Like Cho Ramaswamy made an allibi - HONESTY is Equated to Caesar and BRUTUS is equated to Dr.MMS. When Cassius and others stabbed Caesar, he was not surprised, when Brutus (DR.MMS) stabbed Caesar, the HONESTY cried "You too DR.MMS" - the very embodiment of HONESTY taking sides of Cassius Camp!

I would say yes. Its good that people are getting found after making scams. Talented ministers may have hidden these under a carpet. OR may be media and people are India are now more talented and aware of the deeds and do not take lame excuses. Ministers like Kalmadi and Raja have always been there for every govt. but so called talented ministers hid them before the scam came in public. I am sure, this is a cleaning up and ministers in future will take some lessons.

There is more than enough of talent available with UPA.But it could not be as of now used for constructive purposes as the same is spent on retaining power and position.

No. There is no scarcity at all. This kind of a discussion comes out when there is no proper channeling of the available resources and talent. There are many laureates, scholars and statesmen in this cabinet. Also the culture of co-alienation govts becomes a barrier to properly direct the available talent & the control over its extent of proper utilization.

There is no shortage of talent in present Govt. The problem is not selecting right person for the right job/ assignment due to various political compulsions. Even if it was a pure one party Govt, as opposed to present united format, problem will still continue due to allocation of portfolios based on caste, regional bias and gender of elected members. If man of integrity, talent and back ground is required to fill a particular ministry, he can be chosen from academic/ corporate world or may be an experienced retired Govt servant is taken. Mr Manmohan was also given portfolio with out fighting any election.

I defiantly support ur arguments there is never was scarcity of talent in the country what is lacking is the will of the minister we elected they are more interested in personal benefit it is like different people working with different intention and purpose how can we have he desired result if this is the sate of the things of the very people we elected

I slightly differ in this. People are getting more and more narrowed & getting loose marky deals to revel on money. So, talent get blocked & support gets dewindled. Quicky time & quicker money in short methods. is the dictum of people now.

It all depends on what talent we are looking for. Definitely theres no dearth/ scarcity in talent to loot public money. Its happening right from the Top to bottom. What can one expect of the Ministers & MLAs when the party chairperson is upto it in big time :( Where r the Bofors funds, Where is uncle Kotrocchi, Why r they running shy from contacting Swiss Banks to reveal names of those who have parked funds their, What made Raja take such stupid decisions to cost the nation 1.76lakh crore.. what was his benefit by doing so? Mr. Sharad Pawar's the great Lavasa flouting all rule n regulations, the great Chouhan in Adarsh scam (bloody eating from the kargil martyrs share, shame on them), The great Kalmadi in CWG and the lovely Radia in telcom scam... what more talent you want? UPA is truly good at it..

Off-course not there is an overflow of talent in UPA! By being infamous they are famous as put by Jack Sparrow of Pirates of Caribean: The only rules that really matter are these: what a man can do and what a man can’t do. For instance, you can accept that your father was a pirate and a good man or you can’t. But pirate is in your blood, boy, so you’ll have to square with that some day. And me, for example, I can let you drown, but I can’t steer this ship- UPA all by me scruples & , savvyness.... So, can you sail under the command of a pirate, or can you not?

I agree to Ms.Kavita, there is no scarcity of talent and utilization is based on personal interest. This is why country gets ministers like Kalmadi, Raja, Sharad Pawar etc. The only silver lining is Dr.Manmohan Singh who proved his metal twice; opening up market as finance minister and nuclear treaty as Prime Minister. And I agree that by-enlarge he is helpless.
