India is a land of diversity. This can be proved with idea of system of separate boards for each state, evaluation system, reservation, variation in fees across public, private institutions, variations in course curriculum, reservation system not only on the basis of religion but region too. Where do we think can improvement or reforms can be brought in our present education system? Do we really think that we are capable enough of taking up jobs after completing graduation/post graduation or is there a need for diploma/certification too?

I believe the first objective of a good education should be to teach a person to think for herself , and learn on her own for the rest of her life. Learning does not stop when a student comes out of college. Instead , even after a person starts working , learning is supposed to continue.

Today , unfortunately , this is not happening.

Education is just putting a little information into a student , without even giving her an idea of how this information can be used in the outside world.

A second purpose of education should be to instill the right values , morality. Again , we see an increase in not only white collar crimes committed by even software professionals , but even murders committed by IIT students !

Lastly , education should also give us pride in our culture , which has withstood the onslaught of hundreds of invaders and conquerors , over thousands of years. This also seems to be missing.

I believe that there is a strong need to bring in uniformity in our education system so as to evaluate every Indian on same parameters and to ensure quality across the country. Reservations, regionalism, institutions without accredition to the governing body, corruption are few stumbling blocks which need to be removed to ensure proper education system.

I support the idea of recycling the paper and growing more trees and reducing the usage of paper as much as we can. The whole idea of creation of this debate is to make people more aware of what harm we are doing to the nature by wasting paper. All of...
