Yes there could possibly be a ceiling owing to the biological structure differences in the genders when it comes to taking up certain responsibilities. The emotional and behavioral traits may also matter a lot.

Yes of course there exist a glass ceiling.. but it is not physically existing, but the same is in the minds of the ladies. There can be a lot of objections to my statement, but the truth is that women still feel that they are not as good as men. You can quote many examples to prove me wrong. But I call them exceptions.. The average lady in India is constantly thinking that she is lacking when compared to men.

Glass Ceiling: Though it may not come across as a major problem to most, but it is a very serious issue for a woman who wants to make her career and is ambitious. Most of the time due to their maternity break, or marriage or any such family issues female have to take a backseat at workplace also. As 6 months break during maternity can take their chance of a promotion, hike in salary or various other benefits and so on and so forth. Break the glass ceiling, have an equal opportunity policy for both men and women. What if a female takes a break for 3 months or 6 months, do they need to give away their promotion just because they are blessed with the most precious gift of God. No, the answer lies in your performance appraisal policy needs to be defined and should deal with cases like this.

There used to be - but is fast vanishing now as women climb the corporate ladder on their prowess. The top echelons of management are now less gender-biased than before.

The glass ceiling itself means that its is just a glass and any women can go up.in any place of prominence or achieve anything they wish. the subtle meaning of glass ceiling is an encouraging term that Yes! women can break it an go so that it is possible but many do not wish to due to their various factors that is woven in a womens wholesome life. We may also give a term called cement ceiling instead of glass ceiling where there is no chance for an women to cross at all which is abjure. hence the glass ceiling effect is a encouraging factor for women that they could go across where some very great ladies could achieve in real life Most women do not take a chance and so the term has some relevance.

Hi Good afternoon to all. There's no use to quote western trite in context of Indian sense, it will never be fit in Indian sense to justify it, emotion is one of the core attributes in women, which empowers her to break any challenges, only stupid discuss on the role and capability of a woman. Since human existence, its a woman who shouldered and up-bring this world so nicely which looks beautiful, where all we live.
