In 2006 businesses seeking improved performance grew the overall product lifecycle management (PLM) market 10.7% to reach $20.6 billion for the year, reports CIMdata Inc. Research by the Ann Arbor, Mich., consulting firm forecasts continued worldwide growth at 8.5%, reaching an estimated $30 billion by 2011. What's more, all geography and industry sectors are sharing in the strong growth.

PLM Market is yet to see huge investments from Indian companies while time to market and productivity pressures increased, other than traditional sectors such as automotive.new verticals such as Pharma, Food, Textiles is not happening on the expected scale. Indian companies in sectors such as leather and leather finished goods have shied away investment because of cost reasons and fractured supply chain.Given many of these industries are SMEs, the possible trend could be hosted solutions and applications at an industrial cluster is an emergent possibility.
