yes, most definitely. Unless you are very focussed when you are on the internet, you can get lost. your objectives must be very clear before you go on the net. there is so much of "interseting" information, that at times you end up following some other trail than what you started out with. that leads to a total loss of time and effrt. not to mention bandwidth cost. ofcourse, if it is only for timepass.... it is an excellent media.

Any activity should be done in moderation and depending too much on any one activity like internet browsing may not be healthy. We need to have alternative methods to obtain information and the dependence on a particular activity/medium should not lead to further obsession with the medium/activity.......

IN OUR SCHOOLDAYS WE USED TO WROTE AN ESSAY"WHETHER SCIENCE IS A BLESSING. OR CURSE".NOW WE HAVE TO TELL WHETHER INTERNET IS A CURSE OR BLESSING. NO DOUBT WITH THE TECHNOLOGICAL UP GRADATION INTERNET IS REVOLUTIONARY TECHNOLOGY WHICH BRINGS THE WORLD TO OUR BEDROOM. WE CAN GET HUGE AMOUNT OF KNOWLEDGE IN A VERY SHORT SPAN OF TIME. BUT TODAY WE CAN SEE THAT THIS MIRACULOUS TECHNOLOGY IS USED BY MANY TERRORIST ORGANIZATION FOR THEIR OWN SELF INTEREST. THERE ARE MANY WEBSITES THROUGH WHICH WE CAN COPY SONGS AND DOWNLOAD MOVIES BY WHICH SMALL INVESTORS HAVING PROBLEMS. CYBER CRIMES ARE CONTINUOUSLY INCREASING WITH THIS TECHNOLOGY. SO I THINK THE TECHNOLOGY WHICH WAS MADE FOR BETTER INFORMATION TOOL ARE NOE BECOMES A THREAT TO THE MANKIND IN THE NEAR FUTURE.

Yes, Puja you are right. Todays generation has been suffering from internet addiction which is rottening the very root of todays youth and childhood. Small kids who don't even know how to latch up their shoe laces are found chatting on net or browsing objectionable sites, internet is killing the very spirit of struggle and challenge as everything is available on net and nobody takes pain enough to do something original. Cyber seduction, cyber crimes are other threatening aspects of internet, I am your side Puja, Go ahead and give a wake up call to India 2050.

Anything kills if you are overdosed with it...but however, it also depends how you use the internet...if you are using to kill time, obviously it kills you too...if you are using it productively (again a vague expression...but can be perceived in the best possible way you think), it provides you more than what you need... So, is too much internet killing us??...YES, if you are using it for over-socialising, over-chatting, over-XXXing etc., and NO...if you are using it for a purpose that will benefit not just you and your family but the society at large too...I take the latter way, and so a big 'NO' to the question.

No it is not killing - however there is a shift in our learning procedures. The knowlledge enhancement process is shifting from (learn, practice, share) to acquire , sample test, sale. Interesting in more and more. Dependency is increasing. It is reducing the innovation. Rational use is in the hands of individual.

i support no... bcz the information.. the benefits we r getting from net r really un comparable... yeah. agreed upon this- that its killing us in certain point.. but still without its addiction.. 80% of work will not b done in computer line... and this addiction is much needed... bcz it help u to give ur mind a bit rest.. its two part of a coin... helping.. but destroying... now we need calculator.. to add 2 + 2 , just bcz we r addicted of tech... but again. its saving our time... so... just use ur brain.. dont get addicted.. use it well.. n take rest... keep healthy...

Lets take an example here, when the wheel was invented, did we have lobbies which argued that people have stopped walking and the wheel is really an evil thing which is destroying our society by inculcating a bad habit in us? My assumption is No is the answer. The internet is no different. It offers a much simpler way of doing things. It does not necessarily propagate the idea of us becoming couch potatoes and absolve keeping in touch with people in the real world. So can someone tell me why we believe that internet is being evil here? If our habits need improvement and if we need to find better ways of utilising our time, then its really our problem and this is a problem that internet cannot resolve.

No, internet is not killing us, but it is just helping people, actually now a days people having no time to wait for any things so if internet providing right information on single click so what is wrong to use internet, it saves lots of time, it is era of IT so we can't stop the using of internet, yaa i agree with Puja that we have become fully dependent on internet but it depends on human either they want to use or not, but internet has become the part of human life, i think instead of killing word, should use habit, surely we all are in habit of using the internet in daily life.
