Does automobile sector need a PUBLICITY STUNT?? I just don't think so.. as Mr. Virag said it can be more of demand-supply gap..nothing more. Everyone is too much into buying new vehicles that they just don't need any other marketing .. Just perisitant quality is enough..

the auto companies create a hype around their brandin a bid to attract new customers / bookings... just check the delivery schedule of Fortunner ( gone down to 4 weeks actually from 6 months when you book)

Yes definitely.  One should remember the days when has to wait for a popular brand of scooter wait time even after shelling NRI money.

Might not be ! It actually depends on the brand and its reputation in the market. Lesser known brands wouldnt mass produce before testing the market, whereas bigger brands have to produce a minimum number of cars to cater to their dealer network before advertising a new launch. Otherwise after advertising a mew launch, if the vehicle is not available with some dealers it could prove to he a negative attribute.

I accept the views posted by Mr.Jayant Vishnu Ji, and Mr.Virag Shah. This some sort of technique used by the automobile industries to motivate the purchase and it is a strategy.

When there is a choice you have an alternative car;but if you are referring to recent Maruthi's stable it is purely supply and demand and the market decides the wait period.

No, it is not marketing stunt, it is fact that waiting for more than 90 days, if you see or analyze the graph of past two years, you will find that how much percentage grow in automobile industry. Especially very high rush during the festival season. And even off season also rush. It may be demand is very high as compared to supply. But it is not marketing stunt.
