Ms.Namrata I differ from your point of view. The reservation calls for the participation of qualified and tallented women candidate in lokhsabha or parliament. The reservation should not be politically motivated, and if so, the women will be dancing to the tunes or they will be the proxies in male dominated segments. Moreover the womens participation will help upliftment of downtrodden people in our country.

Here, as in many other parts of the world many (maybe a majority of them)women are not really free to pursue in what can lead to the betterment of society. I believe that women can and do offer a different perspective from men and it complements and harmonizes all mankind. I advocate some sort of selective reservation for women as optimal - I'm not in favour of a blanket x% reservation all arounf from the Lok Sabha to Gram Panchayats.

Women are exploited in this country because of our relegion and age old customs. Unless these customs are removed through proper legislation women cannot hope to get any freedom in this country. only when women, particularly educated and right thinking woman start governing this country gender descrimination and exploitation of women can be stopped.

There is a need for women reservation in the assemblies and parliament. In the male dominated society, women have been denied their rightful place. As a consequence, talent, among women, have not been allowed to surface in the political arena. When the reservation was made in the panchayats, several women with talent have come in the fore front and contributing to the growth of the society. Same will happen, when reservation for women is made in the parliament and assemblies.

I do agree with women reservation in panchayat because Bharat still lives in villages where more participation of women is required. However, iam not in favour of their reservation in assembly/loksabha etc as we all are aware of woman power & they are no way less comparable to men. Actually there is no difference in men & women when it comes to talent, knowledge & expression. Let the reservation should be used at lower level for woman empowerment till we achieve a desirable rate of literacy.

Thanks for invite Namrata, Endorse your views any kind of reservation is at best akin to giving crutches to a healthy individual that can only result in weakening or retardation of muscles and natural processes..

No sort of reservation is correct in a democracy. If at all there has to be any reservation, then it should not be earmarked for any particular constituency. It must be rotational in nature, i.e., the reserved constituency must become open in the next election and another constituency can become reserved in its place. This way, it would ensure that the current candidate (who won by reservation) would do good to the constituency so that she is re-elected the next time in an non-reserved election that would happen in the same constituency.
