Yahoo has hit rock bottom. They’ve now, finally, had their layoffs. Those that are left are keeping their resumes fresh and don’t expect to stay there over the long term. Everything we hear from top tech sites boils down to this the company is in “absolute disarray.”  The news about closing down products like Delicious. The Upcoming team is apparently wiped out. Even the consumer has totally lost confidence in yahoo.  So, what are your views on this...Is Yahoo seeing the end of the tunnel??

Its been a disaster for yahoo in the recent weeks, they are just shutting down too many things, laid off nearly 700 employees all over, on top of it they are having the worst PR at the moment. Also Yahoo may not be killing Delicious, but they have killed something else "the consumer confidence" in them. Delicious the popular product of Yahoo till date is shutting shop and flickr the photo sharing site many feel will have a same fate within a year....Some how Carol bartz didn have what it takes to take a company like Yahoo to that position, what they need is a fresh start,,if not its as good as dead to me, they are just running the show for the sake of it...

Yahoo mail was really good to me for about 14 years. In the past year or so, it is a nightmare of tricks and gimmicks and tracking and I don't know what the hell is happening but it is not good.

Yes Amrita I agree with you. Yahoo used to be best once upon a time but now hardly anybody have any kind of faith in yahoo mail.

Yahoo appears to be in the twilight zone with a lot of problems. If things do not improve, they may have a difficult time in the future.....

Thanks for the referral, Amrita....

Hi, When face book can take a challenge at Google, yahoo is not an exception. These tech companies survive as long as people support them.I mean social support. These internet companies that rely on social network have its own problems of cultural change based on tastes and alos based on the fast technological inventions and things that make the process obsolescent. Hence what you say may come true unless they brace up and bring in new innovations that could make it sustain. IT is for change and the tunnels these days are reduced in length so that many companies see it faster than others.

Yahoo has a very strong user base. Freebies cannot last longer in the competitive environment. May be strategising to create something worthwhile in future to annul competition! Let's hope for the best!

Decommissioning decisions are strategic not easy. Probably yahoo is looking at something bigger and brighter. The future strategy might be acquisition of some many other known names in the world. The acquisition will not only bring new technology but also human resource with it. Nothing remains forever. It is wise to get rid of non-productive elements before you plan for something bigger and better.

Yahoo Inc. may be having temporary problems but the quality of service has been unaffected. They still have an upper age in mailing services. It would be too premature to say "End of the tunnel"for world leaders.
