@Debanjan: The Indian position on the freedom flotilla is indeed diplomatic. We have condemned Israeli action as so many nations around the world have done. This is in line with the Indian government policy on the Palestine issue since 1991. We are no longer on the side of actively supporting the Palestinian struggle for creation of their own state.

@ Kiran: Thanks for the references to websites. I have been learning about this issue since the last at least 30 years so have some knowledge about it. You have not addressed the issue I raised: the illegality of Israeli action in landing commandos on the ship and killing 9 activists.

I think what most people are ignorant of the fact that the freedom flotilla was not in Israeli waters. It was in Gaza waters and therefore it was not only illegal but also immoral for Israel to take the plea of its security and attack the ship. Israel wants to have it both ways. It does not take the responsibility of Gaza as the occupying power under UN laws, At the same time it occupies it illegally.

@ Kiran: Who's more threatened: Israelis with their much superior military power plus nuclear capability or the Palestinians with practically nothing to protect themselves?

As I have said previously the Indian government seems to have sold it's soul to the Zionist arms merchants for some commissions. So that is why the Indian government has been keeping it's mouth shut against Israeli atrocities. This is a terrible policy on part of the government of India.

Friends I would love to know our views about the killing of innocent activists on the freedom flotilla by the Israeli navy. Do you think that the reaction by the government of India on a serious matter such as this one is a pusillanimous ?
