I have read a couple of days ago about some listings of work skills which are minimally affected by recession. Those work skills remain to be in demand despite of the financial slump. Does the job of a system administrator fall in this list?

Yes, System administration is best field to choose because  even in recession this field doesn't get affected. Every firm have to maintain their network in highly secured way & those kind of security is done only by system administrators as well as they having the responsibility to maintain network & so forth. Even myself have chosen system administration field because of this reason.

definitely this is the best IT option available in this time of recession.as long as there are computers in organizations there is always a need for system administrators.

IT Network System Administrator is a good pick as one of the recession proof jobs. This will give you more chances of faring better in this tough times.There are many businesses and companies which are running on vast computer networks and they all need administrators even if the company is not making profit.
