For the first time USA is getting the taste of cricket mainstream with major international teams playing in USA where Newzealand and Sri lanka are playing few T20 matches, but  it was great to see kids in park having fun with hitting some balls with a cricket bat and not a baseball bat for a change, and suddenly Sunil gavaskar in the commentary box was saying these are good signs for the future, where kids from a country who don't know what cricket is all about, and ICC is making sure that the game of cricket is spreading and heading in the right direction.

And amongst all the formats, the T20 is what will work there I guess and USA having the most unusual games which very  few countries follow like Baseball, NBA, different form of Football which is more of a rugby like, but they are hugely successfull there, but not elsewhere, but this cricket's shortest format of T20 is sureshot crowd puller anywhere anytime, and is attracting huge number of fans, and if IPL and world T20 craze is anything to go  by then ICC are heading in the right direction by spreading the shortest format of cricket to other parts of the world, soon you might see IPL or a champions league or even World T20 being held in US for that matter...

I think cricket can become a mainstream sports format in US with more number of immigrants from all over the world flock US.  Infact cricket already has hordes of fans of the game, its just that there was no mainstream game of cricket played earlier now with matches between Newzealand and Srilanka happening that too a T20 will garner new fans to the game and will see cricket spreading in unknown territories, who knows down the line it may be Baseball v/s Cricket. But for that to happen Infrastructure should be improved is US interms of grounds and cricket centers with staff and coaches in major cities across US will take cricket places and can become a major format of sports in US.

AFTER A VERY LONG GAP AMERICAN CHILDREN HAVE STARTED EVINCING INTEREST IN CRICKET AND THE ENSUING T20 MATCHES WILL KINDLE THE INTERESTS OF NOT ONLY CHILDREN BUT ALSO PEOPLE OF ALL AGE GROUPS.

It is been already around a decade ICC is trying to make cricket popular in US but i dnt think so they are being that successful but with some more efforts  hope they eill be successful.

There is every possibuility of cricket being a important game. With asians, africans, australians, England familiar with game, with the advent of T20 cricket has got the potentiality to become a most sought after game in US.

I have no doubt that the some form of this game will gain immense popularity even in US in future. Only thing I have doubt is in which form: 'Basecket' or Crickball"?

I completely agree with Ayan on his views. Once started it will probably take about half a decade to become one of the main sports like NBA or Base Ball.
