Everybody has become cost concious and smart enough to take a decision with respect to any kind of marketing activities,  with growing demands and requirements of the individual needs,  the youth of today are adamant and stubborn when it comes to procurement of the commodities.  However,  they still lack the knack of buying a product at their price,  so the market is still open for any kind of bargain and negotiations.  However,  market insight is also very important,  so bit of research and knowledge gathering would also be an added advantage to the young consumers.  But, overall it is impulsive with lack of timing and direction which boils down to price factor.

Market research is important when it comes to buying something important , costly and it is a long term investment we need to be careful think before we buy.If we don't think and purchase something just because the market is offering a good deal, that good deal can be a bad deal for us.

I agree impulsive buying is very much in fashion now & applies to most of the consumer products. People hv lots of disposable income & enjoy shopping. However, the importance of price cannot be neglected especially in rural markets where products sell on price points.

I see the "well-heeled" Youth of today espl:y from the IT and Banking Sectors who have 'money-power' , give little heed to the Older-generations principle of "Value for Money" related to any purchase, where impulse is the last word used.....Hence I side with this group in the debate....Sushil["We-Care" Consultancy Services,Pune]

But Daddy, I want to be DIFFERENT. I don't WANT a blackberry. I want either a Green Beret or a Red Beret. And I want one NOW.

if so how far it has given you the desired expected satisfaction you had hoped.  secondly,  considering the service aspect of any consumer durables after sales are also to be considered.  However,  if the on going trend is opposite,  kindly elaborate the advantages and disadvantages.

Hey,

At times we buy things not because of its value or its brand but because of dire requirement of children's  desire. We never mind it. Marketing can best make use of it.

Do not you see it an Ice cream wallah comes a day or two, then subsequently, even if you are stubborn not to buy, you are forced buy that by listening the horn and children's demand.

You only buy or purchase the product or commodity when it is in need not when you come across or see it in the market.   Most of the time you never get what you want, at the same time you go to any extent to make an effort to get it.  so its better you get some information on the product and make sensible and intelligent effort to acquire through right medium.  Mind you " Necessity is the mother of invention".  So be sensible when you buy or make a purchase.

Current ongoing trend is opposite of what you said, Mr. Hari. Many of us do purchasing just to get good or ongoing offer.
