There are various economic airlines. Jet Airways has laid people off recently and now again is in news because of some new strategy.

Yes, I believe this strategy will work.There were too many employees due to whom capacities went down without any signs of reviving in near future. Because of this, JET was bound to optimise the manpower in line with the present requirement. But because of this different classes of people now will have the chance to choose services according to their priorities and have their different experience.

The increased staff were being recruited keeping in mind double digit growth & more newer planes being ordered. But when the capacities are running low & show no signs of reviving in near future  ( increasing aviation fuel cost & many companies cutting down on air travel) JET has not option but to optimise the manpower in line with the present requirement.

I think this five category distribution is a good idea. Various people of different class would have the chance to choose services according to their priorities and have their different experience.
