No employee loves moving across companies for no reason, typically the reasons for job hopping are 1) stagnation in the current role with no prospect for growth 2) Reduced opportunity for inter department transfers 3) Office politics & unhealthy inter-department rivalry. The law of opportunity works both ways ....if the company wants to downsize an employee then it is unemotional decision driven by business needs similarly the employee too has right to seek better role & pay package unless he is seriously harming the interest of the existing employer....Honesty should measured in the quality of work and should not be proportional to the time spent in an organization.

Look at the attrition rate and compare it before ten years. Do you know why is it increasing? One prime reason for this is the prosperity of job hoppers which other employees are also realizing now.

Yes, anything non traditional like not sticking in a job for donkey's years is good. Job hoppers have a greater sense of what is going on and have wider experience and are more challenged than stereotypical employees.

I recently read an article that stated that it is more beneficial for someone to stay with one company as opposed to switching companies as a way to climb the corporate ladder. This is certainly counter to what we as recruiters tell the candidates we are working with.

"Rolling stones gathers no mass", likewise anyone who hops jobs shall not gain thorough professional experience and it also shows very bad on his profile. Employers do give value to loyalty and and long standing employees.
