ya!!! i also agree with Priyanka ji.........that if we have job satisfaction then we could give our best at the workplace...............if we give our best then our job itself becomes secure..afterall who wants to lose a good employee who is taking full interest in his work.

Agree with most of the arguments regarding the job satisfaction giving a job security and personally i do believe that job satisfaction is the basic necessity to be successful at work. But there might be situation when the job is not satisfying, but provides you security and you could not shift to another job due to the lack of opportunities as happened during the recession. At those times i believe that more than the satisfaction at job, it is the satisfaction that you have a job which matters. But yes in all other cases it is the job satisfaction which is mandatory

Did Mahatma Gandhi have the sense of Job security when he started the Non-violent approach for Indian Independence. it was sheer passion for the Job that he opted for which gave him the edge over the britishers. If there is no Job satisfaction, or an enjoyment in the work you are doing, let it be 100% secure, you will surely lookout for something more exciting, something more challenging, something that stirs you, something that can bring out your true potential.

I think job satisfaction matters the most.If u r not happy with ur job then u cannot perform well and that makes ur job less secure. If u r happy with ur job then u will b working hard and there is no way ur job can b insecure. So first choose a job that keeps u happy and then make it secure with ur hard work and dedication...

I know most of the times we end up doing wrong things more rather than ending up doing right things..we dont learn anythin..no skills are improved when we just work for the sake of working...

I support Job Satisfaction as satisfaction is a all round term which comes from the work environment, work profile, peers relation as well as well devised employee policy which automatically encompasses job security.

Job security is practically the right choce but i think if u are satisfied with your job, the security comes automatically. You have to be passionate about your job. Then work doesnt seem like work. :) works for me!

Job Satisfaction or Job Security ??
This is one intriguing question which every individual comes across in life...what makes us go for a particular option..Most of the times we end up doing what others are doing..i.e. in short herd mentality & we end losing more often than winning...
I always believe job satisfaction would be beneficial in long run...
what do u people think?

Job Security is first Suppose you joined one company and worked for several month after that you come to know that their is no project now in this company although initially you joined it based on your job satisfaction but now what will happen if you don't have project to work on??

If you are in a job for your livelihood then definitely Job security comes first. Then comes job satisfaction. Say in a company where you are working you know that job security is not there but you are confident enough about cracking through a job in another company. So that essentially gives you job security and having that job security in your mind, you then look for job satisfaction. But if you are in a job for your livelihood and you know that it is difficult to get another job then how many of us can boldly say that job satisfaction comes before job security?

Job Satisfaction AND Job security. One thing can't happen without the other. You can't be satisfied in a job if there is no security. On the other hand, unless you are satisfied in a job, there can not be security: Because you will not produce to the optimum. We can talk about other interesting OR propositions though: Life Satisfaction OR Job Security, or how about Job Satisfaction OR Career security.
