just see the trend and if you fit in the trend setting then take anything that fits in your profile.whether job or career.with fast moving changes in the companies going multinational , re-organising, ,selling ,acquisition and reducing margins the role of company gets transformed much faster into good best or worst.Over and above, the recessions so far that hits around once in 10 to 15 years and ever growing price rise gives many worst hallucinations to people who are seeking job or who are having jobs to hold or many do not see career as an option at all.job security is the order of the day with so much unemployment problem.

While i agree that a career gives you permanancy, jobs give you the flexibility of changing your profession anytime. In todays rush world loyalty and career both can be tossed out in a moment and hence it is important to have a job always to provide for your family and pursue other interests.

It depends on individual to individual. One may be comfortable with a job and the other may be with career. Eventually a job has too a career.

career is built on the jobs you get and the way you perform in it.i appreciate totally with the view of mr Anand.Career is built organically with the type of jobs one chooses and one tries to stick with it. What career we think may not work out for many as there is no real match for any one in a uncertain and unreliable environment both the effects of internal and external environment dictates terms with us.

The difference between a job and a career is the difference between forty and sixty hours a week. ~Robert Frost while, By working faithfully eight hours a day you may eventually get to be boss and work twelve hours a day. ~Robert Frost

@ Santosh, we have not that much freedom/ liberty to express our views aboutour career. Our parents had given us the only option of civil engineering. & let me clear you that I am talking about the incidence which had happened 25 years back. So request you, not to compare the situations. & always ready to discuss @ personal level, if any fruitful thing is going to happened.

I am doing a job in civil engineering field for my family in spite of will/wish to do a career as a high-school teacher. You can go for a career of your choice, only if a proper planning is there from you with the support of your parents, as without support of your parents, everybody is helpless.

No career-No Job.For some job means going to office or factory; having tea twice & lunch once a day & coming back home in the evening. For others unless you clearly know what career you are looking for; you will not even know which job to take up. After all job is what I do today but career is the path I want my professional life to take.

I agree one should start a career as soon as he/she complete his /her degree. Waiting for a good career is not the correct decision. After opting for a job he/she can always change it.

Somewhere I agree.. But not completely! You just cannot summarize this by quoting number of hours of work! It entirely depends on the way you involve yourself in your company. This decides if you deserve a job or a career. I work 9 hours in my company for which I am paid. And another 6 hours for the company. Creating values and creating money are different things. Values always pays back but it might take time. Everyone wants a career! How many of us do things differently which can make their BEST career?

CAREER HAS GOT MORE WIDER MEANING !! Are You doing the "Wrong Work"? Craig Nathanson shows why you need to pursue what you love .Helping people find "right work". Are you ready to change your career? No change your life. What is right work. You get up in the morning and you want to work. Living in the dream. It is where you are in alignment with your life. If you had to give a thirty minute talk in an auditorium what would you want to talk about? Perhaps a "right career"! Get More of Craig Nathanson: Does this sound like you? •If your job is just something to pay the bills and has no meaning for you… •If your work life feels empty… •If you are just hanging in there so you can retire and finally do what you want… Then…you’re not...

Yes, 100% true fact. career & job go hand to hand because both are interconnected. But I still couldn't understand that what is job meant for where its a part of career ? In Marketing terms, Job is like a Sales part & Career is same as whole Marketing which meant for initial planning before sales ( Job) and managing overall efforts after sales ( Evaluation of job towards career).

I think career is much more important in comparison to job. Job can give us good salaries, perks and position but somewhere we lack the intrest. Job can be sector specific, for a period or till the time of existance of company whereas career is for long term and much more fruitful....

Considering the fact of what an industry demands from an individual. It is always in the hands of the individual to choose the right option available for him/her.A well established career is much more important than a job which keeps the person satisfied and if he/she is satisfied then the person can do wonders in anything.
