New enterreprenurs with less finance when approacing banks discourage asking for colateral securities for 120% of the loan required. Is it fair?

If you can convince the banker about the project and the promoter's capabilities, the collateral requirement can be reduced. Also a good reference is required.

In case of good projects, management's proven track record and with a good reference, bankers can be convinced for a lesser or no collateral security.
