If some one is happy with the internal security system now a days in our country, that means he/she is sleeping and dreaming. I think the Mumbai Attack, serial killing through out the RED CORRIDOR by naxalite movement, Kashmir, North East region....., the list is long. Isn't it?

Hi sharath, When we are asking that we are safe that means we as indians are safe or not. we should not diffrentiate the indians into bihari's, punjabi's or else. The question is if we have to face the attack from the external strenghts will we face that. sorry to say, it seems impossible because of our own government policies. the main problem in our country is corruption, lack of alertness. we are not keeping track like who is coming to our country n who is going out. other than that we are governing any strict policies against the criminals as well. so ultimately i dont think that we are safe

I would not totally agree with Kavita. Crime occurs in every corner of earth. But that is not an excuse to say we are unsafe,. Had it been so, then being surrounded by enemy countries, we would have been captured by them by now. We have world's 3rd largest army, 4th largest Navy, and 5th largest Air force. And talking about our internal security, there may be attacks on police but we should not forget that happens everywhere. Even terrorist attacks and Drug mafia and underworlds are in every country. Our security and intelligence are tackling these situations very effectively. We shouldn't forget that.We have very effective internal defence forces. Problems do occur. But we shouldn't blame our security systems for that. Rather, in these emergency conditions, we should join hands with our security forces to improve our internal security........

We cannot create an effective deterrence against the potent threats ,so far we continue to project our image of being accomodative, flexible and lenient. CHALTA HAI attitude will have to be dropped. We will have to send a clear message that we are in no mood to let others play with our security. Our indecisiveness and lackadaisical attitude have proved malignant for us. It's high time that we stop tolerating the nefarious activities of anti-national and anti-social elements. Then only it would be possible for us to ensure the safety of our home.

when it comes to national security ,there is nothing like utopia exists ,india is not alone facing problems of border infiltrations ,insurgencies, n terror threats .there are global superpowers which besides being developed aren't immune to such problems but wat is to be taken into consideration is dat how this can be tackled effectively, there is immediate need for adequate tracking system, which i think govt has sensed over a period of time so as to bring in concept of UID and other such steps can be taken to create database of citizens .this will drastically bring down illegal infiltrations.when we talk about inhouse active terror outfits n criminal groups then we must introspect our role in it .this can be resolved only through literacy, equal opportunities n just society ( with this i mean indiscriminant).so creating a safe society isn't alone govt. but duty of aware n educated citizen.if we take look around in daily lives we start our day with bribing a traffic policeman for escaping a ticket.this how we create a corrupt society n hence a unsafe nation.

There is lots of Corruption and mainly political pressure on Police. Our police have no modern equipment to fight with terrisom and government is not serious about it.

I don't agree with Yash. Apart form the crimes and security situation mentioned by Kavita, imagine the life in many parts of Bihar, UP and many such places. As long as widespread corruption prevails and as long as there is no value system in the politics, it is difficult to improve the situation.
